Chapter 214
Anthony pocketed the medicine and dashed into the house without hesitation. With a swift kick, he sent the man flying three feet away. “Get lost! Who are you people, and what are you doing here? Anthony’s speed left everyone too stunned to react.
The man Anthony had kicked appeared to have sustained internal injuries. It took him a moment to recover as he clutched his side. Turning around, he snarled, “Damn it, you dare kick me! Ill cripple you today!” He then called his buddies over. “Guys, it’s him. All the men in black suits drew their guns, aiming the dark barrels directly at Anthony
An ordinary person would have been scared stiff by now, but Anthony stood there with a cold expression, his eyes narrowing slightly as he thought. So, these people are after me: Their swift arrival suggested they were the ones responsible for his amnesia.
At that moment, he noticed the swelling and redness on Amy’s face, which was evident even through the veil. It’s obvious these people beat her, he realized. A surge of rage welled up within him, and the violent tendencies he had long suppressed erupted, shrouding him in a bloodthirsty aura.
Seeing Anthony like this, Amy’s heart skipped a beat. Had he regained his memory? Amy wondered, too scared to speak, more frightened than she had been when abducted just moments ago.
The room was now thick with tension, every gun trained on Anthony. A sudden move from him would mean instant gunfire. The man Anthony had kicked earlier, believing the situation favored him, stepped closer, intending to retaliate and humiliate Anthony. But as he approached, poised to strike, a blur of movement flashed past him. Gunfire erupted, and he felt a sharp dagger pressed against his neck.
Several men in black fired in succession, narrowly missing Anthony and nearly hitting their own. Anthony’s fingers tightened around the dagger, its tip already drawing blood from the man’s skin. “Tell them to drop their guns. We’ll settle this elsewhere.” Anthony demanded.
Despite being held hostage, the man maintained his defiance and cursed, “Bullshit! You expect me to believe that? Without these hostages, it’ll be a piece of cake for you to get out of here with your skills alone.” Turning to the other men in black, who were at a loss, he commanded. “Cuys, don’t worry about me. If this mission fails again, I’m as good as dead anyway. Id rather die knowing I contributed to its success.”
Anthony furrowed his brow secretly. These men in black were bonded like brothers, and the man’s words made them hesitate. In that fleeting moment, something unexpected occurred.
Theodore, frightened by the sound of gunshots, crawled out of the room while Amy was distracted. Despite being unable to walk, Theodore moved with surprising agility and soon reached the center of the living room. Concerned for the child, Amy moved to pick the boy up.
The men in black, indecisive, took advantage of the moment and fired at Amy, hoping to divers Anthony’s attention.
A gunshot echoed through the room. As soon as Amy cradled Theodore in her arms and looked up, she saw the man slowly collapsing before her. She stared at the blood flowing from his chest, so stunned that she couldn’t bring herself to say a word. The men in black, realizing they had accidentally hit Anthony, decided to fire a few more shots just to be safe.
Just then, gunshots were fired from outside, and several men in black fell to the ground. The remaining ones had no choice but to redirect their firepower toward the unexpected assailants. Anthony felt his strength waning; the bullet had struck him squarely in the chest, and he could feel his life slipping away bit by bit.

Fearing he would be too heavy for Amy, he couldn’t bring himself to lean on her. He collapsed on the floor, his eyelids drooping shut. Amy couldn’t help crying out, “Anthony, don’t sleep!”
Amy placed Theodore on the ground and helped Anthony up, letting him lean on her chest. She pressed her hand firmly against his bleeding wound, but the blood continued gushing out.
Anthony heard Amy’s voice and forced himself to open his eyes wide. He yanked Amy’s veil off, gazing at her face with a smile
“My guess was right; we do know each other. Why won’t you admit it? Anthony said weakly. Amy’s eyes welled with tears, her voice trembling. “Don’t take, save your strength,” she urged. At that moment, he was like a stubborn child, determined to get answers. “So my name is Anthony. Were we together before? My heart tells me I love you. Every time I’m near you, my heart flutters. I can’t bear seeing you bullied”
‘Love, Amy thought, freezing in place. She had never imagined that Anthony would fall in love with her. When they were together before, she had assumed he felt, at most, a fondness for her and typical male possessiveness. She never expected to hear the word “love” from Anthony’s mouth, especially now that he had lost his memory.
Anthony didn’t give Amy time to respond; he slowly closed his eyes. Amy shook her head frantically. “Anthony, wake up. I’m Isabella. Please, wake up, she pleaded, so anxious that she forgot she had medical skills.
At that moment, the gunfire outside finally ceased, and a group of people, led by Hunk, walked in.
Seeing the woman who resembled Cynthia but possessed an entirely different demeanor, Hunk hesitated shortly before tentatively addressing her. “Mr. Davis”
Isabella lifted her head in a daze and begged, as if grasping at a lifeline. “Hunk, Anthony has been shot and passed out. Please save him. Only then

did Hunk notice the severity of the wound on Anthony’s chest and realize the gravity of the situation.
Hunk administered the medicine to Anthony, then turned to Isabella, reassuring her, “Ms. Davis, don’t worry. You have medical skills, remember? Right now, you’re the only one who can save Mr. Clara”

Of all the terrible translations this is by far the worst. Garbled rubbish with different languages in between. I wouldn't recommend this novel!...
