Camila blinked, finally making sense of the tangled relationships in Connor's family. "No wonder you guys don’t get along."
Connor's gaze was deep and intense as he spoke slowly. "In a big family like ours, we tend to keep things superficial. Beneath the surface, it's a different story. Does that scare you?"
Looking up into his eyes, Camila whispered softly, "As long as you're here, I'm not scared."
Connor's stern expression melted, and with a gentle touch, he lifted her chin and kissed her deeply.

The new year was just around the corner.
In Connor's office.
Camila had just finished giving her work report and mentioned she was going out for dinner with friends that evening when suddenly, Connor’s handsome face was right in front of hers.
Camila tried to pull away, but the more she resisted, the more passionately he kissed her.
Their colleagues outside the office could peek in and catch a glimpse of their intimate moment.
Camila was nervous.
"Let go of me."
Connor raised his head slightly and led her into the lounge. Frowning, Camila clutched his shirt, wanting to snap but holding back.
Connor kissed her moist, slightly parted lips again.
When he finally let her go, he asked in a low voice, "A guy or a girl?"
Camila blinked, puzzled.
Connor repeated, "Someone from Lantern Hill?"
Camila hesitated for a moment, then smiled slightly, "A guy."
Connor's voice was low. "Can you not go?"
Camila replied, "He's an old friend. If we don't meet today, we'll meet another day."
