A Promising Youth novel Chapter 29

At that moment, Clara looked at me with immense seriousness, and I looked at her with confidence.

I never went to college, but for four years in prison, in that place of undivided attention, I studied almost like a hunger under the guidance of Master and the teachers!

Master said, “If you want to change your fate, you have to put in ten times or even a hundred times more effort than others. If you can't even compete with others in terms of effort, how can you talk about competing with others in terms of “family” and “connections”?”

“Ok, Get your man over here! The position of Executive Vice President has to be filled by Matteo!”

At that moment, Clara trembled her red lips and slapped her palm on the table.

“Wait, I have not done talking.”

Greyson hastened to interrupt with a sly look in his eyes, saying,

“Before this bet takes effect, the formula of ‘General Grey’ must be incorporated into the company's assets.”

I seem to understand something. The second shareholder seemed to be aiming at the “formula”.

Clara violently grabbed my clothes, as if trying to persuade me not to gamble. After all, the value of that formula was equal to six Blue Butterfly Textile Factories.

Seeing our hesitation, the second shareholder immediately added.

“Miss Clara, I know you've always wanted to get rid of me from the company, now the opportunity is right in front of you, don't back out!”

“Greyson Morris, don't try to provoke me!

The formula is Matteo's, I can't do anything about it.”

Clara glared at him in exasperation, with her hand still holding my shirt imploring me to give up.

“Young man, I've heard all about you. You've come a long way to help Clara, you must like her. This is a good opportunity.

As long as you help Clara and squeeze me out of the company, Clara will like you

It's worth a fight for love!”

Greyson smiled grimly. How could I not see through this little trick of his?

Taking a long breath, I gently pushed Clara's hand away and said.

“Okay, Mr. Greyson, I'll bet with you!”

Clara immediately said.

“Are you mad? If we lose, we'll lose the company and your formula!”

With a cheeky smile, I said. “Sister, I'm doing it for you!

I hadn’t been a hero since I was a kid, so I have to be brave today.”

“No!”

She stood right up, grabbed my arm and said.

“Miss Clara, so what you're saying is that Matteo is not qualified to serve as the executive vice president of the company?”

Greyson smiled. If we didn't bet, it was his wish.

I turned my head to look at him and said.

“I will take the debt. Mr. Greyson, if I'm right, you've drawn up the contract, right? Just get it out and let's sign it!”

Hearing my promise, Greyson stood up violently and said excitedly.

“Here's the contract, it's signed on my end.”

“Are you stupid? It's obviously a trap, so why do you have to go into it?”

Clara was so anxious. How could I not see that it was a trap?

With pen in hand, I asked as I read the contract.

“Mr. Greyson, who exactly is competing with me? Let him come forward. I can't sign this contract until I see him.”

He nodded with a smile, took his phone out and sent a text message, and then a short while later, a svelte looking man with gold rimmed glasses walked into the office at a sedate pace.

At that moment, the entire conference room was silent, and Clara's face was as white as paper.

“Senior?”

“Clara, it's been a long time!”

I had to admit this man was super handsome.

There was an air of social elitism!

He sat down next to Clara, held up his gold-rimmed glasses, and said with a charming smile.

“Clara, after seven years of writing me love letters, why did you stop writing them?”

At that moment, Clara flushed, bowed her head and said shyly.
