A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 431

Chapter 431 Zayne knew the answer before he asked the question. As such, he replied to his boss professionally, “Noted.” All the residents of Salem City were shocked to see how quickly the clear skies gave way to a sudden downpour of rain. Sage was just as confused too. She was still in the cafe of the racecourse discussing the details of the racecourse when the lights suddenly flickered for a moment and then popped. The manager immediately rushed through the rain and into the cafe. He explained to Sage that the sudden malfunction was because of the monthly reparations of the racecourse’s electrical grid and the sudden storm that caused the workers to stop the reparations due to health hazards. As such, the electricity would only be back on after the storm resides. Sage remained calm and told the manager to prioritize the health and safety of their workers first. Yoel also chimed in, “Safety first!” After he said that, a small nimble person darted up the ladder in the corner of the room. Of course, it was Melody who had darted up the ladder and is now currently tip-toeing on the highest rung, trying to reach a bird’s nest on the top of the bookshelf. The ladder was slightly swaying from the motion and looked like it was about to collapse.

Yoel saw her and immediately rushed up to the ladder to steady it with his hand. He looked at Melody and asked, “Kid, what are you doing?”

Melody took the bird’s nest off of the bookshelf and looked straight into Yoel’s eyes. Melody only then realized that the bird’s nest was made up of plastic and the birds were sewn into the nest. The birds were so lively that they seemed to be real birds when seen from afar. Melody pursed her lips together and said, “I thought it was real.”

“It looks a little like you,” said Melody as she looked at Yoel.

Yoel was rendered speechless by her recklessness, he could only reply oddly, “I don’t care if it looks like me or not, all I know is that you should get down from there, right now!” Melody looked seriously at Yoel and said, “I’m the type of kid that only listens to advice and not commands. It doesn’t matter if you intimidate me or scold me, I wouldn’t comply.”
