Freya felt that Lucas humiliated her. Hence, she did not care to explain herself but retorted instead, “Then are you saying that she didn’t cause any harm to my child? She did, didn’t she? So why should I not do the same to her child?” 

Lucas responded with a slap across her face. That was the first time that Lucas laid his hands on her. 

Freya also slapped him. Not only did she slap him, but she also broke everything in the house that she could lay her hands on. Like someone who lost her mind, she started yelling and screaming at Lucas. She could not understand why the man who promised to love her and take care of her forced her to become a crazy woman instead. 

Was this love that everyone referred to?

Freya replied,” Peter and Lucas were friends from the same hometown. He moved to Nadeem City and worked there for a few years and it was your dad who paved the way for him. I think he later got offered a position in the government. I mean, I’ve broken things off with your father for quite some time and I haven’t heard from Peter ever since. Perhaps they have been keeping in touch all these years. And what did you say about Peter? That he’s a minister?” Jace nodded and added, “Anyway, he’s not that influential. But we have to be careful about his
