Chapter 765 Sawyer and Primrose nearly choked up by what he said.
They, too, had wished the same for Sage.
Sage was their daughter, their only child, and they were willing to do anything to make sure that Sage was the happiest and most loved person on earth.
Of all the things that Primrose had taught her daughter, from protecting herself and working efficiently to making sharp and good decisions, Primrose left out one important thing, how not to lose yourself in a relationship.
It was because she, too, had never learned that.
With no one to love, a woman can be powerful when she is alone.
No matter how strong–willed and determined a woman is, as soon as she loves someone, she will turn soft–hearted, impulsive, and reckless, and everything she does or says will be affected by her relationship.
Primrose never stopped her daughter from loving or getting hurt in relationships because she knew that there were some things in life that she would never be able to teach Sage, and Sage would have to learn them on her own. Seeing how Sage had ended up today, Primrose and Sawyer would, of course, be heartbroken. “It‘s easy for you to say.” Primrose then said to Jace, “If you really wish for that, then recover quickly. Drop that gloomy look of yours. You act as if someone owes you a lot of money. If you die, my daughter would have to manage your company business. Why should she do that for you? It‘s not like we‘re going after the Yuriel Group.”
“No, it‘s not that.”
Jace shook his head and hurriedly explained himself, “I just wanted to give her the best to compensate her. I know she doesn‘t need any more money or love. Both you, Sawyer, and her brothers, had given her the best of everything. But this is all I have..these assets...and my worthless life.”
“Worthless?”
Sawyer scoffed. “I agree, but my daughter likes you, so that makes your life worthwhile even if it isn‘t.”
Primrose nodded. “Exactly!”
Jace pressed his lips tightly together. He did not know what else to say.
Jack, who was listening to their conversation, felt helpless. “I mean, can you both stop taunting my pupil? He is already timid enough and you taunting him like this would only make him even more frightened.”
Jace glanced at Jack and wondered if he was really his teacher.
Jace was expecting Jack to take his side and put in a good word in front of his parents–in–law.
However, Sawyer and Primrose laughed and relaxed a little. Primrose said, “Who are you trying to trick? If he is really timid, do you think that my daughter would have liked him?”
