Chapter 814 When Jace went to Mostal and looked at Freya from a distance, she was still sitting in the wheelchair. He thought her leg was not fully healed yet. He did not expect her to be able to stand up and walk! Freya looked at her son and was so excited that she was lost for words. She hugged him tightly for a long while. It had been a long time since she was able to hug him like this. Freya‘s interaction with Jace decreased significantly after her leg injury. She had not been able to hug him like this.
Roy came along with Freya. He smiled with relief when he saw her hugging Jace.
Fortunately, it was just a hug. She did not hit him.
When the usually proud and arrogant Freya saw her son, her motherly side took over and was very gentle.
Aunt Wendy stood behind Freya, laughing and crying. “She was so anxious to hear that you‘re alive. She wanted to come back to see you quickly, so she suddenly stood up and walked as fast as she could. It surprised us too!”
Roy smiled. “Her legs have almost fully recovered for some time. However, she has been afraid to walk. Your news shocked her so much and made her walk again.”
It was not just that. If Freya could, she would love to run to him. Freya got out of Jace‘s arms. She looked up at him with a tearful face. “Son...” Jace answered, “Hey, mom, sorry for making you worry and sad. I‘m sorry.”
“Don‘t apologize. You‘re alive. This is better than anything else.”
Freya usually had a heart of stone. However, she softened when she saw her son‘s safe return.
This was her only son! She never wanted to suffer the pain of sending her son off again.
Freya finally regained her authority as a mother and warned her son, “You have to live well. You can‘t die ahead of me again! Do you hear me?”
Jace hurriedly nodded and answered, “I know.”
There was some food reserved for Freya and the rest in the kitchen. Freya was full of emotions and barely ate, but Roy ate very well.
Food was everything to him.
“Duncan, come. Try this.” Grandma Yuriel really liked Roy. He was capable and a nice person. He was open–minded and like a child at times. She had a good impression of him.
Roy nodded and answered, “Okay. This is good.” Gloria immediately said, “I made it!” She had never been more proud. Charlotte quickly suggested he try her dish. “Duncan, I made this. Sage helped me a little too. Try it.”
Roy tasted it and praised it, “Well, this is good too!”
His praise made Charlotte proud too.
