Chapter 834 At that moment, Laura felt like she was the third wheel, getting in the way of Sage and Jace. She got angry and stood up, “I‘m leaving!” “Hey, don‘t go.” Sage pulled her, “You haven‘t seen your old comrade for a while, aren‘t you going to talk about the fifty–cent coin?” Laura looked at Jace through the phone from the corner of her eyes. Ever since the video call got through, Jace had only been focusing on Sage. She snorted, “Forget about it. Our combat relationship is not worth fifty cents, even three cents are too much. It‘s enough for me to know that he is alive. I wasn‘t too sad when he was dead anyway. You two may continue with whatever was going on just now.”
Jace replied, “Bye–bye.”
Laura was once again speechless. She pointed her finger at Jace, “You‘re not the only one who has a lover!”
Then she turned her head away and went looking for her lover. Sage chuckled and lamented,” What a shallow combat relationship you two have. Are you really such a person to value sex over a relationship?”
“Yes.” Jace said very proudly, “I learned it all from Yoel.”
Sage looked askance, “You should learn something good instead of bad things.”
Jace replied, “Is there anything good that I could learn from him?” “Well... I guess not.” Sage thought for a while, “Only his face, I guess. He is quite a handsome man... I think.”
“Oh?” Jace lifted his brow, “Who is more handsome–looking? Me or him?”
Sage stared at Jace for three seconds with her mouth opened and closed it again after three seconds.
The sun was shining bright early in the morning and it created an illusion that it was a natural filter. Jace stood there against the sunlight with a black color tracksuit. There was a facial towel hanging on his shoulder. His shaved hair was covered with a layer of sweats and the word, Sage, was shimmering on his head.
‘Why does he always looks like he is glowing?‘ Out of a sudden, Sage suddenly thought of Iron Man. She accidentally choked herself with her saliva because of the insane thought.
“I guess I‘m your cup of tea.” Redness climbed onto her face and the temperature on her face rose. She rolled her eyes, “bBe humble.”
Once she called him that, she remembered a serious business matter. Immediately, she put on her business look and said, “Oh, yes. I need to talk to you about the retrenchment of Yuriel Group... Since you‘re back, I can give Yuriel Group back to you now.”
Jace answered, “You did a good job being the CEO. I think you should continue.”
Sage frowned, “Jace, what do you mean?”
“I
”
“That reminds me! I have yet to settle with you after everything that happened.” Finally, the volcano in Sage‘s heart erupted. She sat on the couch with her leg crossed and stared at Jace with a serious face. Then she started with her complaint, “What were you thinking about writing that will? Leaving me with the house, gifts, and all of the share of Yuriel Groups and making me take over to become the CEO of Yuriel Group?! I was really speechless. Did you even ask for my permission? You left everything to me so you have nothing to do with it anymore. Do you think that it was a cool move?”
Jace tried to speak, “I...”
“You what?” Rage rushed through Sage‘s veins, ‘I‘m telling you. That was really irresponsible of you! That‘s not how it works. Who do you think I am? I‘m your ex–wife, not your wife? You don‘t have to leave anything for me. Do you think I care about your inheritance? Not only that, you even wrote letters to me saying... And what sort of letter are those? Three letters in fact! Do you think you are some sort of romance novel author? Those lame writings of yours! I‘m telling you I wasn‘t touched at all when I read it. I was laughing so hard like it was a joke! I laughed so hard that tears streamed down...”
As she scolded, she reminded herself of the three letters. Her nose suddenly started to itch.
Across the screen, Jace focused his vision on Sage. “I‘m sorry,” he said.
“D*mn right you should be!” Her eyes turned red with anger. She gritted her teeth and scolded, “Jace Yuriel, you‘re a jerk! A terrible jerk!”
Then she hung up the phone. Her hands were shaking so she clenched them into fists. Once again, Jace video called her again.
Subconsciously, Sage wanted to reject the call but she accidentally accepted it. Looking at Jace‘s face appearing before her again, she reprimanded, “Was that not enough?”
“I‘m sorry, Sage,” Jace apologized again. He put on a serious face too. “I know that you are mad at me. And I know that you had a lot to carry while I was away. It was part of the tradition
for the Yuriel family to write a will to avoid unexpected things to happen. When I wrote the will and that three letters, I was thinking of leaving something for you if something bad happened to me. I didn‘t have a lot and had nothing much to give. That‘s all I had that I wanted to give to you.”
Sage stared at him and said nothing.
