Chapter 853
Sage received a call from Primrose in the afternoon. She wanted to visit the horse farm in the northern suburbs.
“What a coincidence.” Sage looked up at Yoel and said, “We just brought in a batch of horses from Riverside City. Someone even reserved two as a gift to you.”
Yoel immediately became alert. “Is that your parents?”
He casually leaned over and shouted to the phone, “Hello, this is Yoel! I’m Sage’s best friend!” Sage’s ear hurt from his loud voice. She gave him a disgusted look. “Who’s your best friend?”
Primrose’s sweet voice came from the other side, “Hello, I know you. You’re Brother Rich, that guy who made our precious Melody sad, right?”
Yoel was speechless in ernbarrassment. He suddenly looked up at Sage and Jace and mouthed in silence, “Who told her that?!”
Sage and Jace shrugged at the same time. It was not them.
“Aunt Primrose, don’t listen to them. I’m a good boy and innocent man.” Yoel tried to clear his name.
Sage and Jace both grimaced. How was he an innocent man?
Yoel had impressive social skills and had some small chats with Primrose. The two had a surprisingly pleasant talk together and even agreed to meet at the racecourse. “Let’s go. It’s a nice day for horse riding today.”
The three of them left the Tasteful Restaurant and headed for the horse farm in the northern suburbs.
They arrived first and went to the stables to check on the newly arrived horses. It was a group of good mix-breed horses.
Yoel was very knowledgeable about horse breeding. While explaining the cross-breeding process to them, he caught a glimpse of three figures and stopped abruptly. When he stopped, she turned back to see Primrose, Sawyer, and Melody, who came along with them.
Melody looked unhappy. It seemed like she was reluctant to come along with them.
When Jace saw them, he greeted them fondly and warmer than Sage.
Yoel was always a socialite and talkative. He wanted to speak about many things but went speechless and froze for a long moment to see Melody.
While Yoel was stunned, Melody followed Primrose and Sawyer and walked up to them. She acted like she could not see Yoel and only greeted Sage. “Aunt Sage.”
“Hey.” Sage responded and asked, “Why are you here?”
Melody said, “I heard Grandma and Grandpa are back, so I came to visit them.” Yoel kept staring at Melody. It had not been that long since they last saw each other. For some
reason, he felt like she had grown up and looked a lot taller.
“Melody,” he called her softly.
