Sophie slapped his hand away. Seeing the lecherous smile on his plain, rugged face, disgust and anger filled her. "Don't touch me."
Upon seeing her revulsion, the man's smile vanished instantly. He grabbed her chin roughly, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Do you really think you're some rich man's wife now? You even doused yourself in that seductive perfume, yet he still pushed you away. You threw yourself at him, and he still didn't want you. And now you dare to look down on me?
"If it weren't for me, would you have graduated from a good university? Would you have had the chance to come to Vellmont City? What, now that you've met some rich man, you think you can just discard me?"
His voice was somber, laced with contempt.
Sophie clenched her fists, lowering her gaze to hide the hatred and disgust burning inside her. She remained silent.
Clyde Ascott's fingers traced her soft cheek before he leaned down and kissed her roughly on the lips.
"Don't forget where you came from. If that man knew about your past, do you think he'd even glance your way?"
"Clyde!" Sophie's expression changed as she looked up and glared at him, speaking through gritted teeth. "If you dare tell him, you can forget about getting any more money from me."
"Of course, I won't tell him." Clyde sneered. "But if you don't behave, who knows?"
As he spoke, he reached out and groped her roughly in a sensitive area.
Her body shuddered violently as she fought the urge to push him away, enduring his touch in agony.
