William's once well-behaved son was now going against him. Hence, William believed that if he did not discipline Xavier now, he would lose his dignity as his father.

Vera understood William, so she knew he was about to hit Xaver. So, she quickly pushed Xavier behind him and mentioned cautiously, "Xavier's still young, so you shouldn't blame him."

Confused, Xavier's expression was filled with defiance.

William immediately lifted his fist and punched Vera in the shoulder twice.

After venting his anger, he glared at Vera and Xavier before saying, "You both need to be taught a lesson. Just remember to call that bitch and ask Theo to quickly prepare the villa and the money.

"Also, tell Theo to give us one of his projects that will give us a larger profit. I'm his father-in-law. If he dares to go against my word, I'll have them get a divorce!"

Xavier never thought that William would actually hit Vera in front of him. His face paled. He wanted to stop William, but he was too afraid, and his body had been frozen in place, unable to move.

Although Vera was reluctant to do so, she still nodded for Xavier's sake.

Seeing her obedience, William was finally satisfied. Before he left, he pinched her arm hard, warning, "You'd better behave at home. If I find out that you've just been pretending, I'll make you pay for it."

Once they heard the sound of his car driving off, Xavier, who had been terrified, finally found the courage to speak. "Mom, are you really going to call her to ask for a villa and some money?"

Vera patted his head and replied gently, "You don't need to worry about that. Also, don't come out if this happens again in the future."

He nodded his head, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He had finally seen through his father's cold and cruel personality, and all of the love and adoration from the past had been nothing but a lie.
