Diana Shaw walked downstairs, got in Judson Ray’s car and sat on the passenger seat without saying anything.
After Diana buckled the seatbelt, he stepped on the accelerator and drove off the neighborhood without saying anything, either. He drove very fast for a long time. Finally, he hit the brake on a remote road with no people around.
After parking the car, Judson stalled the engine and turn off the light. The yellow streetlight was streaming into the car. He stared at the empty road ahead of him and said in a cracked voice, “I …”
Diana was shaking. Then she unfastened her seatbelt, got off the car, and walked away without say anything to Judson. She had mixed feelings and there were tears in her eyes.
Judson went after Diana. When he found her walked faster and faster, He yelled at her, “Diana, I miss you.”
Diana stopped there suddenly.
Then she turned around with tears in her eyes and yelled at Judson, “You come and leave as you wish. So, what do think who am I?
Judson took a deep breath and growled, “It is enough!”
Diana panted heavily, and then she cried and shouted, “It isn’t.”
“All your words are not true, not true!”
“If you don’t love me, why did you do so many things that made me moved? Why”
“If you love me, why did you hurt me again and again? Why?”
“Why!” Standing not far from Judson, Diana cried and questioned him.
Judson was shocked there. The breeze was blowing. He could say nothing. Later, he walked to Diana and gave her a hug. He held her tight.
Diana struggled in his hug. She punched on Judson’s chest and asked, “Why do you come now? Why? Why do you come back to me after I have begun a new life? Why?”
Diana kept punching Judson. But Judson kept hugging her. He whispered in her ear, “I am sorry.” And these three words were the only thing that Judson could say.
Diana wriggled out of Judson’s arms. Though she really hoped Judson could hug her, she got rid of it now. Then she squatted on the ground and burst into tears.
After crying for a long time, Diana stood up. Her long hair was dancing with the cold wind. Though the wind was cold, Judson and Diana ignored it.
“Diana, can we be together again?” Judson stared at Diana and asked in a husky voice.
Diana shook her head desperately and said, “We can’t be back together, Judson! We can’t.”
