A Whisper that went unheard novel Chapter 177

Melody stilled as she stared at Jeremy, not quite understanding what he meant.

Then, Krystal glanced at her and said, "I'm not sure what nonsense is going through your head again, but I only want to sit in front because I want to discuss some patients' matters with him."

She then took a step back. "But since you're his fiancée, if this bothers you that much, we can talk during the meeting tomorrow. I can also take a cab home by myself."

Krystal's comments made Melody appear as if she was someone wracked with jealousy.

It was the end of the work day, so there were quite a lot of people around, including some from their department. When they heard Krystal's comments, they all turned to look in their direction.

One of the doctors said, "You're injured, Dr. Finnigan. How can you take a cab home by yourself? If it's necessary, I can send you home."

Melody couldn't help but feel a little awkward. Jeremy, however, remained expressionless. He merely asked, "So, what do you want to do?"

There wasn't any underlying meaning to his words. He just wanted to know what Melody was planning to do.

Was she going to sit in the back, or would she have him come pick her up later? He was fine with either option.

Melody bit her lip. Since she'd already said what she'd said, she naturally couldn't take it back now. In a low voice, she responded, "I really am feeling a little dizzy today. Since the two of you want to discuss patient matters, I can take a cab home myself."

Then, before either of them could respond, she headed out of the parking lot.

Though, it did seem more like she was escaping.

Only when Melody left the parking lot did her expression completely fall. She could already imagine the rumors that would be flying around their department tomorrow.

Right then, Felicia called. She was asking whether Melody had any plans for the night.

"What's up?"
