Melody returned to the York residence, and Echo rushed to the door to greet her.
Echo was now very dependent on Melody, as if it knew that she would be its only owner from now on.
Melody felt terrible after meeting Jeremy. She also understood that her feelings for him weren't something she could let go of so easily.
Even when she tried to calm herself down, she couldn't help but doubt if breaking up with him had been an impulsive decision.
But… the feeling of being constantly ignored was really painful. It was as if she were just a free gift in a store—something that was there, but not truly needed.
Melody played with Echo for a while.
Soon, her phone buzzed beside her. She picked it up and saw that Matthew had sent her a bunch of photos and videos, along with various certificates about Echo.
He also sent a voice message, saying, "These photos and videos were taken on the island previously. I've recorded a video for each check-up, so you can rest assured to review them.
"Also, the documents for Echo's return to the country have all been taken care of. I'll give them to Dr. Chesson, and you can pick them up from him directly."
Melody wasn't very familiar with Matthew, but she knew that whenever Jeremy needed something, he would go directly to him. He was probably his personal assistant, or something like that.
After looking at what Matthew had sent, she had to admit that Jeremy was indeed more meticulous and thoughtful than she was.
She hugged Echo and lowered her gaze. Upon thinking back to what she had said to Jeremy the previous night, her heart started to hurt again.
Perhaps, at least when it came to Echo, she shouldn't have said that to him.
