Melody wasn't joking when she said that she was going to hire a lawyer.
The problem was that no matter how many law firms she contacted, they all rejected her the second they heard the details of her case.
Felicia was furious. "What's wrong with these people? You haven't even finished talking."
Melody pursed her lips. "The Wardolfs have probably intervened."
Andrew hadn't wanted her to cause Krystal trouble, so he definitely would've taken action.
"Should I ask Zachary for help?" Felicia asked.
Melody stopped her. "No, I'll think of another way."
Denvin had mentioned Regallo Group's legal department, but they hadn't been in Melody's consideration.
At the end of the day, Regallo belonged to the Wardolfs, and it wasn't appropriate to have their legal team go against Krystal.
Moreover, if she actually did do that, it would probably only give others more ammunition to use against her.
That being said, the results of her escalating matters with Dennis would probably be the same, too.
Melody wasn't unaware of these problems, as she just wanted to prove something to herself for once.
…
When she got home, the house was still empty. Jeremy hadn't returned home for the past few days.
Tiffany had complained multiple times in their group chat that their department had been swamped because of Krystal.
Melody had considered moving out before, but Tiffany and Felicia advised her not to rush things. Firstly, the person who stalked and took photos of her hadn't been caught yet, so Jeremy's place was still safer.
Secondly, Felicia's parents had been arguing lately, so she couldn't stay with Felicia either.
She wanted to look for a new place, but she had to wait until matters died down. These things could only be put on the back burner for now.
When Melody came out of the shower, she noticed there was a file sitting on the coffee table in the living room.
She froze for a second, realizing that Jeremy had returned.
