Jeremy was very cooperative and went to the side with Melody. She said hesitantly, "You probably kept Tessa's medical history and personal information secure. Right?"
"Absolutely."
"The cleaning staff would still need to enter your office and clean your desk, though," she mentioned, testing the waters.
On her way back, Melody had repeatedly thought about how Tessa's hospital admittance could have been revealed. Aside from seeing her being admitted, the only other way is if someone had seen her medical certificate.
When the story made the news, Tessa's pictures were shown, which were secretly taken by someone. It was still possible to suppress that news back then, but the reporters headed straight for the hospital and cornered her there.
After that, Tessa's medical certificate and her various private information were all made public. The whole thing got so out of hand that everyone overlooked something—what if the leaker already had Tessa's medical certificate or history in the first place?
After a moment's worth of silence, Jeremy asked, "Are you suspecting the cleaning staff?"
"You're in charge of Tessa's case, and the head nurse was the one who looked after her. Aside from you two, the cleaning staff would be the only one to come in contact with her.
"What's more, Tessa's hospitalization was masterfully kept on the down low. Virtually, no one knew that she was in the hospital."
Melody voiced her thoughts. "That's why I wanted to know if someone has touched your work desk."
Lowering his gaze, he looked at her before slowly responding, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, then. I never leave patients' medical histories on my desk casually, and my drawer's locked."
She was stunned. That actually made sense. He kept a close watch over his personal items and had a strong sense of duty to his job. Naturally, he would have ensured that the patient's medical histories and other relevant information were secured.
Biting her lips, Melody slowly furrowed her brows.
