Not far away, Cathy’s jealousy was evident. 

She thought, “Why did all the high–quality men revolve around Chloe? 

How exactly am I inferior to her?” 

This thought filled her with even more resentment. 

“Chloe, how could you be so careless, not even knowing you were hurt? And you were gone for so long, Michael was looking everywhere for you. It turns out you were with Mr. Alfredson. No matter what, you should have at least told Michael first!” 

In Cathy’s words, Chloe seemed like a flirtatious woman who left her husband at the party to be with another man.

Michael’s voice was filled with suppressed anger. 

He had been worried when Chloe disappeared for over half an hour, and now she was avoiding his questions, which only fueled his frustration. 

“What is there to say?” 

Chloe’s evasion only escalated the tension. Michael frowned and took her away from Rick.

“My dress got stained by a waiter. Cathy suggested I go to the second floor to change my dress, but the door was locked from the outside as soon as I entered.”
