Michael went to the banquet hall but found that the event had long since ended. He asked the staff but got no information on Chloe’s whereabouts. 

He then rushed to the hospital but didn’t find her there either. 

He even thought about contacting Rick, but Rick didn’t answer his calls. 

Frustrated and worried, he decided to go home to change and shower before resuming his search for Chloe. 

To his surprise, when he got home, he found Chloe casually eating breakfast. 

He froze for a moment, then immediately walked over to her with a stern expression. 

“When did you come back? Why didn’t you tell me?” 

Did she not realize how worried he was? 

He had almost gone to the police. 

Chloe’s expression was calm, in stark contrast to Michael’s 

anger. 

“Chloe, I’m talking to you.” 

At this point, Michael didn’t care that Admas was still at home;

“Do you really care when I came back? When you left the banquet without a word, didn’t you think I might want to ask you where you were going?” 

Chloe spread butter on her bread and took a bite. 

The maid had done a great job; it was both crispy and soft. 

Michael was momentarily at a loss for words. He knew Chloe was angry about what happened yesterday. 

“Cathy attacked Lucy, and as her cousin, I had to handle it. What’s your problem? I called you afterward, but you didn’t answer. You didn’t come home all night. Even if you’re upset, there’s a time and place for everything!”

He was angry because he felt she was trying to get back at him in a childish way. 

No matter how upset she was, she shouldn’t have stayed out all night and turned off her phone, causing everyone unnecessary worry! 

Chloe had initially not wanted to argue with him in the Lotus Manor, especially with Admas upstairs. 

But his tone now made her very unhappy. 

“Who’s throwing a tantrum? One moment you’re announcing that I’m your wife, and the next you’re leaving with another woman without a word, making me look like a fool at the banquet. Who’s being unreasonable here?” 

Chloe slapped the table and stood up to confront him.

“You say I deliberately ignored your calls? Sorry, I’m not that petty. My phone died. As for why I didn’t tell you when I got home, do you even care? Aren’t you concerned about Lucy? Why aren’t you at the hospital with her? 

After all the indignities she endured yesterday, she hadn’t vented her frustrations on him. 

Now he was acting like the wronged party! 

Michael was about to explain that things weren’t as she thought when Admas descended the stairs from the second floor. 

“What did you do yesterday, you brat?” 

Admas had assumed that Michael had returned alone because of a minor disagreement at the banquet. 

He hadn’t expected that Michael had actually left with Lucy!
