But since Michael arrived, he had not said a word to her or even glanced in her direction. 

Lucy was worried that Chloe had said something to him, so she kept her curiosity to herself and did not say much during the entire meeting. 

What Owen asked was what she wanted to know as well. 

“I am not going alone to the Mythica; Chloe is coming with me,” Michael explained. 

Asher’s eyes lit up immediately. 

“So, are you going there for work or to take Chloe on vacation?” 

Michael gave a helpless smile. 

“We did not go on a honeymoon after our wedding, and she likes it there. So, this is to make up for it.” 

In the past, Michael would deny any mention of Chloe, but this time, he patiently explained and even smiled in a way that seemed affectionate. 

“I’ve never been to the Mythica. Maybe you can take me along

Asher joked, only to receive an eye–roll from Michael. 

“It is a honeymoon. What would you be? Our child?”

The Cooper family was not short of money; Asher was just teasing. 

Hearing that Michael was going on a honeymoon with Chloe, Lucy clenched her hands tightly under the table. 

She thought, “since when did he care so much about Chloe? 

He was not like this before.” 

Owen, sitting across from Lucy, saw the disappointment on her face. 

The meeting was almost over, so he stood up and walked towards the door. 

“Michael, I have something to tell you.”

“What happened?” 

Because he asked Ethan to investigate the matter about Lucy yesterday, he has not completely forgiven her yet, and his tone was much colder. 

“You fired her from Paramount Airlines out of the blue. What do you think happened?” 

Owen looked at him, eyes filled with hostility and resentment. 

Michael pursed his lips and stayed silent. 

“Owen, it is complicated, but firing Lucy was for her own good.”
