Chapter 279 Misunderstand 

Asher also looked over. 

James met Chloe at the door, observing her in the dress ho had sent, his eyes filled with astonishment. 

He remarked, “You work in front of the computer every day, but still have such a good figure. It’s truly exceptional.” 

Chloe smiled, “Thank you!” 

“Come on, I’ll introduce you to my friends.” James suggested, leading her towards Asher’s direction. 

Seeing the woman beside James from afar, both of them had some curiosity in their eyes. 

Due to the distance, they couldn’t discern her face clearly, only noting her shapely figure and stylish wavy hair. 

“James has good fortune.” Asher exclaimed. 

In less than half a minute, curiosity on Asher and Owen’s faces gradually dissipated, replaced by shock and surprise.

James smiled lightly and intervened, “Mr. Smith, I thin! u misunderstood us. Chloe is a network security researcher at Bright Moon International and also my assistant. Her presence here today is work–related. Spreading baseless rumors is not what a gentleman should do.” 

James‘ demeanor turned serious, his tone grave. 

Chloe just came to attend a banquet. How could she associate with hooking up with men? 

Owen felt a little embarrassed, but was unwilling to apologize, “Regardless, she knows the truth in her heart.”
