Chapter 280 Truth or Dare 

Speaking under normal circumstances, a company wouldn’t terminate a contract with an artist under their banner for no reason. 

Although the Shawn family had not ventured into this industry, the business philosophy remained quite similar. 

If a person couldn’t bring any benefit to the company and instead exploit it, only then would the contract be terminated. 

Lucy said, “It’s a bit complicated. Monica has realized that she was wrong and is willing to apologize. She also accepts Bright Moon International’s request to terminate the contract. She just hopes that Bright Moon International will not put her on the industry’s blacklist.” 

Being blacklisted would mean no more offers in the country for her. 

A modeling career only lasted a few years. She didn’t want to waste her career time. 

Michael said, “I’ll inquire for you.” 

Michael’s focus wasn’t solely on Lucy. He also wanted to know why Monica was blocked so that he could decide whether to hand over the subsequent projects from Paramount Airlines to the Landry family. 

Lucy said, “Great. Thank you, Michael!” 

She wanted to hold his arm, but he evaded her discreetly. 

She felt very embarrassed. 

After getting off the elevator, Michael presented his invitation card. 

The bodyguard assumed they were together and let them pass. 

Owen spotted them immediately, “Lucy, this way!” 

As he gestured, everyone around followed his gaze. 

Chloe sneered upon seeing Michael and Lucy present together. 

As she expected, if she didn’t agree to attend the party with him, he would always find someone else. 

“Your husband seems quite compatible with others!” James casually remarked, provoking Chloe. 

She turned to James, “Your ex–girlfriend seems to match her current partner quite well too.” 

James remained silent. 

He shouldn’t have bring up this matter. 

Chloe asked, “You knew he would come today, right?” 

James shrugged and said, “I thought it was a good thing for you two to meet at work, but who knew he would bring another female companion!” 

He thought, “Look at me. I had no female companion, only a housekeeper like you.” 

Chloe sighed deeply, feeling helpless. 

She had a sense that today wouldn’t be peaceful. 

Michael led Lucy to their table. His expression stiffened upon seeing Chloe sitting next to James. 

Lucy also noticed Chloe, 

She said, “Chloe, why are you here? Are you following someone here? Why don’t you wait for Michael?” Lucy’s words disgusted Chloe.

She retorted, “If I didn’t follow someone else, wouldn’t you miss an opportunity?” 

Lucy explained hastily, “I didn’t mean it that way. I apologize if my words offended you.” 

She attempted to bow to Chloe. 

Owen couldn’t bear to see Lucy being wronged, so he quickly grabbed her, “Lucy, you don’t have to apologize to her. She did come with another man.” 

Chloe chuckled, “Do you have some speech disorder? You got a lot of words to say.” 

Some present couldn’t help but chuckle at her words. 

The atmosphere, however, felt eerily quiet. 

Michael’s gaze lingered on Chloe. 

Why was there always another man around her? 

Asher observed the scene and clapped his hands. 

“Today is Mr. Dale’s welcoming banquet, let’s not disturb the peace. Come on, let’s play games. It’s so boring just sitting here!” 

Asher suggested playing a drinking game, Truth or Dare. 

Chloe waved her hand and said, “I don’t drink.”
