Chapter 326 Celebrate
1/2
Asher pondered, “I can’t decide if Lucy is smart or just plain foolish.
Instead of using her own computer or hiring someone to spread rumors, she chose to use the company’s computer.
What was she thinking?”
Michael’s hand tensed as he turned to Asher, asking, “When did you start feeling that something was off with Lucy?”
Shrugging, Asher replied, “I can’t pinpoint it exactly. It’s just that after she returned from her trip, things started feeling off.”
Whenever Lucy was around, their interactions with Owen seemed veiled, as if a layer of gauze separated them.
Michael also found himself frequently misunderstanding Chloe, leading to heated arguments, a situation that was rare before Lucy’s return.
Back then, Michael’s feelings for Chloe were lukewarm at best – not enough to provoke anger, let alone escalate to arguments about divorce.
“Michael, after all these years of friendship, now that things have escalated like this, what are you planning to do?”
Asher, the problem–solving genius, found himself at a loss.
It was difficult, especially after spending so many years with Lucy.
He didn’t know what course of action to take.
With a sigh, Asher said, “I played a part in this too. I shouldn’t have acted impulsively. Maybe we should all sit down and talk things out.”
As Owen’s long–time friend, he couldn’t bear the thought of severing ties completely, especially over a woman like Lucy.
It just wasn’t worth it.
With a heavy sigh, Michael followed Asher to the garage, preparing to find Owen.
Meanwhile, Chloe, having successfully turned the tables by disseminating all the evidence, made Lucy the target of public scrutiny, feeling a sense of relief and satisfaction.
“Let’s go out!” Chloe announced, prompting Candy and the others to look at her inquisitively.
“Where to?”
“We’re going out to celebrate. Today marks the fulfillment of a long–standing wish of mine. Besides, we have a new team member to welcome!” Chloe exclaimed, reveling in the joy of the moment.
This was like hitting the jackpot twice.
After changing into fresh clothes, the group descended the stairs and hopped into Candy’s newly acquired Jaguar.
“When did you get this car?” Chloe inquired, noting the tight seating arrangements in the sports car.
There were four of them in total. With one person in the passenger seat, the backseat had to accommodate two more, making it a bit cramped.
Candy smirked. “A while back.”
Noticing Candy’s evasiveness, Chloe sensed something amiss.
However, the discomfort of squeezing into the back seat prompted her to request a ride to her own car parked outside.
Candy retorted, “And when did you get your car?”
