As he took the stage, all cameras and flashes focused on him. The reports bombarded him with the first question. “Mr. Shawn, is it true what’s being said online about your wife’s revelations regarding infidelity?” 

“I stand by everything my wife does. The online chatter about her is baseless,” Michael responded firmly. 

“So, Mr. Shawn, are you admitting that Lucy, your partner at Shawn Heavy Industries, along with her mother, are indeed the ‘other women‘ mentioned online?” 

Michael frowned, saying, “Today’s press conference is to clarify that my wife is not, as people claim, unfaithful. As for Ms. Campbell, I don’t know much about her personal affairs. Our relationship is strictly professional.” 

His response clearly distanced himself from Lucy, which could be detected easily. 

“And what about your cousin? Is she really the person seen in that video?” 

Michael’s brows knit together in annoyance. “You can ask my cousin about the video; I don’t have the details. 

“I’m here today to defend my wife!” 

Michael was never one for the media spotlight. 

In his three years of marriage, he had avoided interviews like the plague. 

This press conference was a first in his life, and it was all for Chloe.

He had been too busy coordinating with outside personnel to check Twitter until the journalists‘ questioning forced him to.

“Ten minutes ago, Mr. Cooper’s call came from Shawn Heavy Industries. After you left, something unexpected happened. Lucy and Owen both left.”
