Chapter 498 Prenatal Anxiety

Michael felt a headache coming on. "I took care of asking for leave from James for you. He understands. Now lie back down and have your breakfast."

He opened the meal box he was holding. It was breakfast from her favorite place, meat loaf.

"I'm not hungry."

Chloe looked at the appealing meat loaf, but just as she finished speaking, her stomach betrayed her with a loud growl.

She felt a bit embarrassed, but Michael didn't seem to find it awkward at all. Instead, he poured her a glass of warm water.

"Even if you don't eat, the baby needs to eat."

This comment made Chloe give him another look.

Then she wondered, "How could he say something like that so calmly, knowing the baby wasn't his? Didn't he see it as evidence of infidelity during our marriage?"

Sometimes, she really couldn't understand Michael.

Ever since she got pregnant, Chloe's appetite hadn't been great. She managed only a few bites before feeling full.

Michael sat by her bed. "Eat a bit more. You barely ate anything yesterday."

She had also been tortured in the cabin for a while, and the doctor said her body was a bit weak.

Chloe shook her head. "I can't eat anymore."

Seeing the exhaustion in her eyes, Michael hesitated for a moment before saying, "Tiffany is in prison. She wants to see you."

Chloe immediately felt repulsed upon hearing that name.

After Tiffany arranged for someone to go to Wendy's hospital room, causing her suicide, Michael quickly found the surveillance footage and got her imprisoned.

Since then, Chloe had considered Tiffany as good as dead.

Even though the sentence wasn't long, and Chloe had fought and felt dissatisfied about it, the fact was that Tiffany wouldn't be out for at least three years.

"Why does she want to see me? Does she think three years is too short?"

If given the chance, Chloe would prefer Tiffany to stay in there for life.

"I know you don't want to see her, so I've already refused her, but I wanted to inform you just in case you had other plans."

Chloe was slightly taken aback by his thoughtfulness. "If you remarry now, your wife would probably be happier than I am."

She thought Michael would have a better life with another woman after their relationship.
