Michael initially thought meeting Lucy was just a coincidence. However, it wasn't long before Lucy reappeared at the Paramount Airlines building, much to the surprise of the crew members who had just disembarked.
They exchanged concerned glances, murmuring among themselves, "What's wrong with her?"
Lucy's face was pale as she made her way directly to Michael's office.
The crew's gossip quickly started to circulate. "Who is she? Is she Mr. Shawn's girlfriend or something?"
An older employee overheard the chatter and rolled his eyes. "Oh, no. She's been after Mr. Shawn for a while, but he was married back then..."
The gossip spread like wildfire, and soon everyone knew Lucy's past as a mistress.
Asher, who had come to Paramount Airlines to find Michael, overheard the conversation before he even reached Michael's office.
Intrigued, he leaned in, asking, "Who's the mistress? What's the story here?"
He was always keen for a bit of drama.
"Oh, it's Lucy. She's shamelessly trying to see Mr. Shawn again."
Once the colleague realized Asher wasn't part of the usual crowd, he quickly backed away.
Asher, unfazed, headed straight for Michael's office upon hearing that Lucy was causing a scene.
Inside the office, Michael's face darkened the moment he saw Lucy. "Who let you in? Get out."
Lucy had never seen him so angry with her before. Even when she had been told not to go to Shawn Heavy Industries before, he had been merely cold and distant, offering to relinquish his shares.
But today, his tone was harsh and unforgiving.
"Michael, I..."
"Lucy, out of respect for our shared history, I've tried to be patient with you. But you keep pushing my limits. From now on, when you see me, address me as Mr. Shawn. No more pretending we're close."
Michael had initially thought her appearance on his flight was a mere coincidence.
But her insistence on staying behind under the guise of feeling unwell and then following him around made it clear she was deliberately seeking him out.
Moreover, she was definitely involved in the recent troubles caused by their partners, who wanted to cut ties.
His patience had run out.
Lucy's eyes were brimming with tears as she stared at Michael.
"Why are you treating me like this? Have I done something to hurt you? Why are you so cold now?"
Michael's frown deepened. "If you don't leave, I'll call security."
The words hit Lucy like a punch to the gut. Despite her repeated attempts to be humble and lower her dignity in front of him, she was being dismissed like trash.
The thought of security being called on her was unbearable. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to compose herself. Before she could speak further, Asher barged in through the door.
