Chloe was full of confusion.

She understood every word the woman had said, but somehow, when they were put together, they didn't quite make sense to her.

"Please, only you can help me!"

The woman's voice had a hint of desperation, almost on the verge of tears, leaving Chloe feeling caught between a rock and a hard place.

It wasn't that she didn't want to help. However, she was pregnant and didn't know the exact size of underwear the woman needed. If she had to make another trip around the supermarket, she would be exhausted.

"I'll get a store employee to help you," Chloe offered.

She figured that the woman could explain her needs to an employee, and they would assist her.

Chloe washed her hands, and just as she was finishing, she saw a cleaner enter to tidy up. Chloe explained the situation to her and watched as the cleaner went to the neighboring stall to speak to the woman. Feeling relieved, Chloe decided to leave.

She exited the restroom, and the men's room was right across from her.

When she stepped out, she almost collided with a man coming from the opposite direction. She looked up to apologize, but the moment she saw his face, she froze in surprise.

"William?"

She thought, "What's William doing here? Is he also shopping for groceries?"

That man looked at her with a strange smile playing on his lips. In that instant, Chloe realized this wasn't William at all.

"Are you William's brother?"

She realized that the man was William's half-brother, who had tried several times to kill her.

The man raised an eyebrow. "You're not completely dumb."

His words immediately put Chloe on high alert. She took several steps back, her eyes fixed on him, her hand reaching into her bag where she kept a utility knife.
