As I was trying on my wedding dress, my phone buzzed unexpectedly with several notifications.
I was busy adjusting the hem of the dress and didn’t have time to check.
“Ryan, could you see who it’s from?” I asked.
Ryan, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit that emphasized his tall and strong frame, nodded lightly.
“Of course.”
He leaned casually against the wall, picked up my phone, and unlocked it with ease.
When he saw a message from Mrs. Carson, he paused briefly before reading it aloud.
“‘Sophie, Axel and Oscar say they want to attend your wedding. What do you think? Should they come?’”
His deep eyes darkened slightly, and there was a hint of jealousy in his tone.
“Sophie, what do you think? Should we let them attend *my* wedding?”
Ryan took a few steps forward, coming behind me. He waved the assistants who were helping with my dress out of the room and then knelt down on one knee to adjust my skirt himself.
His tall, broad figure almost surrounded me, and his long, defined fingers moved skillfully over the fabric. The moment felt strangely intimate.
I was almost intoxicated by his scent.
“Ryan… maybe… maybe it’s better if they don’t come,” I stammered.
“Sophie, please step out. We need to talk,” Axel said, stepping out of his car and knocking on the window of the Rolls-Royce.
When I saw the two of them through the car window, my brows furrowed involuntarily.
I turned to Ryan, worried he might be upset. Gently, I held his hand to reassure him.
Ryan’s lips curled into a small smile, his voice soft.
“Shall we step out?”
He opened the car door and, under Axel and Oscar’s watchful eyes, stepped out and pulled me into his arms.
As my feet touched the ground, my cheeks turned faintly red.
