From now on, I won’t disturb the happiness of those three anymore.
When I was a child, frail and plagued by a severe gluten allergy, my busy mother sent me to live with her friend, Mrs. Carson, to recuperate.
From the day we first met fifteen years ago, Mrs. Carson’s twin sons had been utterly captivated by me. They stayed by my side, protected me, escorted me to and from school, delivered gluten-free bread, and even baked rice cakes themselves to celebrate my birthdays.
Any boy who tried to approach me or deliver a love letter was swiftly driven away, the letters torn to shreds by the twins.
As we grew older, Oscar becomes the Alpha of the Forest Moon Pack and works with his mother to handle the Pack's affairs, and Axel became a professional racer. We bought a house together, and they would come home every day to cook for me.
I thought we would continue like this forever.. until Nina appeared.
The moment Nina, a girl from the slums, stepped into their lives, the twins became utterly enamored with her. Axel would risk speeding fines in the city just to race to her side after a casual comment. Oscar would cancel important meetings just to comfort her during a thunderstorm.
Perhaps I should thank Nina for opening my eyes to who Oscar and Axel truly were.
“Oh no, I sent that by mistake!” Nina’s message popped up, accompanied by a cutesy emoji.
Before I could respond, a series of photos flooded my phone.
In one, Nina wore a pink, fluffy gown as Oscar cradled her like a princess. In another, Axel bent down to place a crown on her head. She looked every bit like royalty.
