After I left, the twin Alphas went crazy novel Chapter 4

The Moonstone Necklace sensed my presence and glowed with a glistening white light. Her expression was venomous as she stared me down.

The moment she noticed me looking, her face changed. Nina’s eyes filled with tears, and she bit her lip, appearing pitiable.

“Sophie, your Necklace is so beautiful,” she murmured.

I narrowed my eyes, waiting to see what she would say next.

“I’ve always envied people who have such pretty Necklaces. You know my family is poor. My parents would never buy me something like this. Could I borrow it for a few days?”

“What?” I frowned, stunned by her absurd request. I reached out to take the Necklace. “Nina, have some decency. Even shamelessness should have its limits.”

But Nina swiftly hid the Necklace behind her back. “You already have everything, Sophie! Why can’t you fulfill this one small wish of mine?”

“That act of yours might work on them, but it doesn’t work on me. Hand it over.”

As I leaned forward to retrieve the Necklace, I failed to notice the sly smile creeping across Nina’s lips. She suddenly let go of my hand and threw herself backward.

Bang!!

The Moonstone Necklace shattered on the ground, and Nina tumbled down the stairs. She landed in a heap, groaning in pain, blood spreading in dark patches beneath her.

Hearing the commotion, Axel and Oscar rushed out of their rooms, just in time to see me standing at the top of the stairs and Nina lying at the bottom.

“Sophie! What did you do to her?” Axel grabbed my arm and shouted, his face twisted with anger. “Even if you hate Nina, you can’t hurt her like this!”

I looked at Axel, his features distorted in rage, and felt a cold numbness spread through me. This wasn’t the Axel I knew but the one who had sworn to protect me since we were kids.
