I finally calmed myself down and said, “My friend is getting married. Are you… are you coming too?”

Given how distant Oscar and Axel had been, it was clear that once I returned to Royal City, we wouldn’t see each other again.. not even as friends. So, there was no reason to tell them the truth about my impending marriage.

Hearing my words, Oscar and Axel exchanged a quick glance, sensing something was off. But they didn’t dwell on it. They simply shrugged.

“There’s no need. You go ahead. I’m too busy with work,” Oscar replied coldly.

Axel added sharply, “What you did today was way out of line. I never thought you could be such a ruthless woman! How could you push Nina like that, knowing she’s pregnant? That shove was practically an attempt to kill her!”

Oscar chimed in, “Nina lost her baby. She’s in the hospital and in so much pain right now. The least you could do is apologize to her.”

Looking at their furious faces, I felt too disgusted to argue anymore.

I raised my head coldly and retorted, “Are you upset for Nina, or for the baby in her womb? Is it because the child was yours, Oscar? Or was it yours, Axel?”

“Sophie—!” Axel shouted my name, his voice harsh.

I raised mine to match him, “Why won’t you answer me? Is it because you can’t? You don’t even know whose child it was, do you? Was this what you were doing every night when you went to ‘comfort’ Nina? A threesome? Did she satisfy you both?”
