After It Happened novel Chapter 18

"Just see how she's lying comfortably. I know your result is just too poor and that's why you won't tell us. I told you that you would fail with that your tiny brain and huge attitude."

I roll my eyes and glare at all my classmates who are snickering obviously enjoying my belittling. I take deep breaths trying to calm my raging heart.

Who does this man think he is? Useless fool that has achieved nothing. A-

"Denise got 294 sir. She didn't fail. Infact she passed almost everyone here." She glares at the fools I call classmates as she says this.

"Okay. Good job."

I'm sure this man prays for my failure everyday. God forbid. I won't be a failure like him.

Immediately the bell rings. Noticing how he has been pointlessly wasting his time, the teacher runs to his desk and picks his notes.

"Wait. Wait. You people should pick someone as your partner and work on one of the topics in the paper I gave you earlier. In fact I'll share the topics myself."

At this the class groans.

"Come after school with your partners and I'll tell you your topic. You'll work on it and create a project. This will be turned in by Tuesday."

Finally free, we rush out of the class.

Lunch break rolls around very quickly and I hurry to sit at the table I share with Camille grateful she isn't here yet. She would force me to sit at C-Jay's table. I'm waiting for Camille to join me when Kelechi walks up to me with his food and sits beside me.

"What?"

"I came to ask you to be my partner in that project."

"Go and ask someone else." I murmur not looking up from my plate.

"You know I only hang out with Tola and his friends and they're not science students."

"Not my problem. Go ask one of those girls." I nod my head in the direction of C-Jay's table where a couple of girls were looking at Kelechi and giggling.

I almost laugh when Kelechi shivers slightly.
