Then she left us muttering something about children of nowadays and boyfriends. I glanced at Kelechi and tried to stifle my laugh as our eyes met with a knowing look.
The party had already started which meant I had missed the part where they surprised Tobi's sister. Bummer. The estate was quiet except from the loud music coming from the party. I hoped noone complained
When we arrived, Tola welcomed us with a kiss on my lips and a nod in Kelechi's direction. He led us to the living room where everyone was gathered. Tobi's sister managed to clean up really nicely and she was looking so beautiful. Her smile was the brightest in the room as she sat among her friends on who I assumed was her boyfriend's lap. We walked up to the little circle they had made in a corner.
"Tola, introduce us to your friend na", a light-skinned boy with braids said with a grin.
I heard that 'error'. Tola came with two friends, not one. I gave the boy a dirty look but he didn't seem to notice.
"Uhm. This is my friend, Kelechi. And Denise, my girlfriend."
I smiled at his title for me. Yeah. Girlfriend.
"Denise, you know my sister already. That's her boyfriend, Calvin. The dark guy is David. The fair girl is Onyinye. This one in braids is Tosin. And that's Shade."
"Hey. Happy birthday Trish." I said giving Tola's sister a small hug.
"Welcome. I haven't seen you in a long time and you haven't texted me since. Shey you've forgotten me. Or did Tola tell you to stop gisting me", Trisha said with an accusatory glance at her brother.
"Oh no no. I've just been busy with everything na. JAMB and WAEC." I said saving Tola who looked like a deer caught in headlights from his sisters glare.
Those two loved each other to pieces. They also loved arguing or should I say fighting. Their fights are so funny though. I was blessed with a chance to see one and I was so tempted to make a video. Well, I made a video, but Trish had forced me to delete it. That girl's sweetness is just deceiving. She can be really scary.
"And who is this fine boy that you haven't told me about eh Tola? You have started hiding things from me na."
"I've mentioned him before na. He's the one that joined us this term."
"But you didn't tell me he was this fine na", Trish whined earning a frown from her boyfriend and a blush from Kelechi. The girl was just something else.
"Don't frown at me jare. Can't I appreciate fine thing again? You think I don't see you looking at those girls?"
Oh, did I forget to say that the girl has no filter?
