Chapter 20

“I am angry, actually,” Cyrus said coolly.

But he didn’t actually look angry. Simone tried to read any signs of impatience or irritation on his face but found nothing.

Before she could think too much, Cyrus continued, “You shouldn’t hurt yourself.”

“Are you angry because of that?” Simone paused, tilting her head and staring curiously at Cyrus with her big eyes.

“Why else would I be?” Cyrus suddenly smiled.

Simone opened her mouth to say something but decided against it; instead, an odd sensation washed over her. It was a feeling she had never experienced before, and she felt uneasy. She instinctively wanted to ignore these strange emotions.

After returning from school, Samuel called Raymond to the study, his expression cold and his voice lowered.

It was the first time Raymond had seen Samuel so furious. He had always been afraid of his father.

“Why did you hit your sister?” Samuel’s mind flashed back to the blood on the girl’s face, and he felt an overwhelming sense of agitation.

Deep down, he had a nagging feeling that his daughter was truly drifting away from him, and that terrified him.

Raymond looked up, stunned, and retorted, “Dad, she stole Stella’s first place!”

Samuel’s gaze suddenly sharpened. “Raymond, are you really that stupid?”

Everyone knew whether Simone had cheated or not.

Raymond’s heart sank as he scoffed and stubbornly replied, “She’s not my sister; Stella is my sister.” As he spoke, he tightened his fists, his gaze noticeably wavering.

He had been told by Theodore that Simone hadn’t cheated, but why did he feel the need to say such a thing? Even he didn’t know.

When Samuel’s icy voice rang out again, Raymond felt frozen in place, his face turning pale.

“Raymond, your little schemes won’t work. If you lay a hand on Simone again, I’ll have to punish you,” Samuel warned.

To quell any discontent among the students, Theodore personally released a clarifying video for Simone on the school’s official website the next day. He also published all her exam papers from the past six months for everyone to see.

The students who still doubted Simone’s honesty had nothing left to say after viewing it.

Although Simone had been ranked sixth from the bottom, her test papers were far more impressive than those of the top students.

Anyone who carefully examined her work could see that Simone only tackled the difficult problems and never bothered with the easy ones. In fact, many of the questions she could solve were ones that even the previous top student couldn’t.

It was clear to anyone that she hadn’t cheated.

Overnight, Simone became a hot topic at the school, though she was completely unaware of that.

Simone had taken a few days off to focus on company matters. The Reed family had now completely rebranded as SynNexus Group.

SynNexus Group’s main industries included artificial intelligence, electronic technology, medical devices, and biopharmaceuticals.

During this time, Simone had ramped up production of the various medicines she had previously developed, receiving a very positive response in the pharmaceutical industry and making a substantial profit. She invested all that money into the smart medical robot project.

On the first day of the medical robot Kova’s launch, Simone held a showcase, inviting business people from all sectors to attend. Naturally, the Irwin Group was among those invited.

As Cyrus and Christian walked in, they were immediately taken aback by the scene before them. The robot showcase was packed to capacity, and there was no way for them to squeeze in; they could only watch the action unfold on the large screen at the venue.

A well–dressed man was currently in conversation with Kova, the smart medical robot.

The man looked at the robot with disdain and sneered, “It looks fine, but it’s completely impractical.”

Someone nearby chimed in, “Yeah, it does look high–tech, but the market is flooded with these things. It’s no different from the household robot I have at home.”

Just as the crowd was preparing to leave, Kova suddenly said in a mechanical voice, “Sir, I have many functions! Come try me out!”

The man hesitated and then asked, “What functions do you have?”

“My functions include but are not limited to diagnosing illnesses, performing imaging assessments, assisting with prescriptions, smart health monitoring, appointment scheduling, online medication purchases, rehabilitation training, physical examinations, emotional companionship (senior version), tutoring (student version), and more,” Kova replied.

The man thought, ‘That’s quite a lot of functions, but most seem like just a gimmick and not that impressive.

With a chuckle, he casually said, “Alright then, diagnose me.”

Kova responded, “Activating the diagnostic system. A full–body scan will be conducted.”

The man stepped back to comply.

Kova emitted a series of mechanical beeps and announced, “Diagnosis complete.” A long list of medical jargon appeared on the screen.

The man glanced at it and froze in shock. “Tumor? No way, I just had a check–up last year.” Realizing it was a serious health issue, his heart raced, and he immediately rushed to the hospital.

More people began to experience Kova’s capabilities, and the results were eerily accurate.
