Simone could feel Cyrus’s warmth slowly fading away.

It was as if they had returned to the first time they met–they were complete strangers, harboring thest malice towards each other.

“This is more like it, Simone thought to herself.

She truly wasn’t cut out for these tender scenes; they were better suited for seasoned actors like Stella.

Cyrus felt a tightness in his chest, sensing for the first time the helplessness of the situation. He couldn’t read Simone’s thoughts, but he knew she was just a little hedgehog who needed someone to care for her.

Cyrus huffed, suddenly feeling a bit awkward. “Kid, don’t forget you’re my family now. I’m your dad. What do I lack? I don’t need to get anything! from you.”

Even in his uncertainty, he didn’t want to pull out her thorns. Someday, she would be willing to try and retract them.

Simone stared at Cyrus in surprise. ‘Shouldn’t you distance yourself from me and dislike me?‘ she thought.

Her wide eyes were round and curious, and she stood frozen, looking almost like an adorable little penguin.

Cyrus gave her a firm pat on the head, chuckling lightly, “Kids should act like kids. Don’t overthink things; if you think too much, you won’t be cute anymore.”

“I’m not a kid,” Simone pouted, stubbornly refusing to be cute.

Cyrus’s words seemed to lift Simone’s previously gloomy mood. Suddenly, she remembered something and asked, “By the way, did you have someone remove the trending topic?”

It wasn’t Jerome’s doing; it might have something to do with Cyrus.

Cyrus replied, “That was me.”

Simone looked at him seriously and asked, “Can you keep it on the trending page for a few more days?”

If it was just removed like that, those who were behind the attacks would escape punishment.

Cyrus glanced at her and realized she had a plan in mind, so he agreed without hesitation.

On the way back, Cyrus’s phone rang several times, but he ruthlessly hung up each time. However, the caller did not give up, calling over and over again.

Just as Cyrus was about to switch off his phone, he heard Simone’s gentle voice beside him, “Aren’t you going to answer? What if it’s something important?” She looked at Cyrus’s phone with curiosity.

“It’s nothing important,” Cyrus said, glancing at the familiar number flashing on the screek, his expression growing cold.

Something crossed his mind, and Cyrus’s gaze suddenly hardened. “Simone, today is your grandfather’s 60th birthday. You should come with me tonight.” He looked intently at her, seemingly waiting for her response.

“Okay. Seeing the expectation in his eyes, Simone couldn’t bring herself to refuse. She thought for a moment before asking, “Do I need to bring a gift?”

“No need. I’ll take care of that,” Cyrus replied, though his expression soured slightly as he remembered Graham and the Irwin family’s usual behavior.

He hesitated for a moment before deciding to give Simone a heads–up. “The Irwin family situation is quite complicated. Your grandfather has a bad temper, so just stick close to me when we get there.”

“And stay far away from Nolan and Quinn, those two lunatics. Cyrus furrowed his brow at the thought of the father–son duo, hoping they wouldn’t scare Simone.

Though she wasn’t entirely clear about what the Irwin family was really like, Simone nodded in agreement.

That evening, Cyrus arranged for a styling team for Simone. As soon as the makeup team laid eyes on her, they were completely awestruck.

They had worked with various celebrities and young heiresses before, but Simone was definitely the most stunning they had ever encountered.

When it came time for makeup, the makeup artist found it difficult to apply anything at all on such a beautiful face.

“Your skin is amazing!” she said. Simone’s natural beauty was striking without a hint of makeup.

The artist couldn’t resist giving Simone’s smooth skin a light pinch. It was so soft and smooth, with not a single flaw to be found.

The artist only applied a light layer of translucent foundation and a touch of subtle makeup. She looked so stunning that heavy makeup seemed unnecessary. This would undoubtedly be the easiest job she’d ever had.

The artist fashioned Simone’s hair into a delicate bun, completely revealing her small, palm–sized face, exuding both elegance and innocence.

In the end, Simone chose a white strapless knee–length gown. The soft fabric hugged her slender waist, creating an impression that it could easily break with the gentlest touch.

Her skin, exposed and strikingly pale, dazzled everyone, especially the smooth lines of her shoulders and neck. The delicate butterfly bones on her back were captivating, making it hard for anyone to look away.

“Is she seriously this beautiful?” The styling team was left awestruck.

Cyrus had always known his daughter was stunning, but seeing her now still took his breath away.

He opened the box in his hand and took out a white pearl necklace, carefully placing it around Simone’s neck. Each pearl emitted a soft luster, surrounded by sparkling diamonds, making it both elegant and dazzling.
