Chapter 25
In the kitchen, the hotel manager glared angrily at Lionel. “You’ve got some nerve, messing with Ethan! Do you even realize the trouble you’ve caused me?”
Lionel kept his head down, blood oozing from the wounds on his body. He bent over to. I promise it won’t happen again.”

He hadn’t cried out in pain even when he was nearly beaten to death, yet now he bowed his head.
“Next time? You think there’ll be a next time? Just take your money and get out of here!” The manager scoffed and directly transferred today’s pay to
him.
Knowing there was no hope left, Lionel said nothing more. After changing his clothes, he limped out through the back door of the hotel.
The sky had completely darkened, the last sliver of moonlight overtaken by the night.
Lionel didn’t head to the hospital. Instead, he returned to his cramped rental apartment, wounds and all. It wasn’t until he lay in bed that he remembered the girl from tonight.
Her face was breathtaking, unforgettable at first glance. Even he had nearly lost his focus when he saw it.
Years later, Lionel could still remember that day vividly. The girl stood like a noble princess, looking down on him, and in that moment, his inferiority was laid bare.
Lionel knew it was her who called the police. She saved him. Without her, he might not have walked out today but rather been carried out on a
stretcher.
The banquet at the Irwin family ended, yet Simone hadn’t seen Nolan or Quinn.
Cyrus felt a sense of relief when he learned they hadn’t shown up.
Over the years, Nolan and Quinn had grown increasingly eccentric, and Cyrus was actually glad they stayed away. If they had come, today’s banquet would likely have devolved into chaos.
A few days later, Simone started following news on Twitter. Last time, Cyrus had promised to keep the trending topic alive for several days, and true to his word, it had trended for a full week.
Simone watched as the comments criticizing her multiplied, curling her lips into a smile. ‘Go ahead. The more vicious the slurs, the harder they’ll fall later, she thought.
That evening, Simone scheduled a post on Twitter that she had edited herself.
The post was simple, containing only two images and a video. The first image displayed a detailed account of interactions between her and the Spence family over the years, including transfers from Norah and receipts for meals she had paid for herself.
Every expense was listed clearly, easy to read.
Everyone was stunned; over fourteen years, the Spence family had spent less than 15 thousand on their adopted daughter.
Even more shocking was that in the living expenses she posted, she’d listed all the food she’d bought over the years, totaling more than 25 thousand.
Most importantly, the account showed that for over two hundred days a year, she took care of her own meals.
She received less than 15 thousand from the Spence family, while her own food and other expenses amounted to over 25 thousand. This made it clear that she hadn’t cost them much at all.
For a wealthy family to spend less than 15 thousand on an adopted daughter over more than a decade was astonishing. No one could believe that a rich family could be so stingy.
The second image was a video accompanied by an unedited picture.
This was the video of Simone pushing Stella, but it was much more complete than the one circulating on the school forum.
In the video, Simone and Stella were standing at the top of the stairs, seemingly in a standoff.
“Simone, you’d better stay out of this,” Stella warned, arms crossed. Her tone was nothing like the weak persona she displayed at school; she now radiated the attitude of an unreasonable shrew.

In contrast, Simone’s mood didn’t waver much. She simply frowned slightly. “You shouldn’t encourage Dad to invest in Gunnar’s project.
Seeing Simone’s calm demeanor, Stella grew more agitated and shouted at her, “Simone, I’m the legitimate daughter of the Spence family! Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?”
Stella’s face contorted with anger, giving her a strangely terrifying appearance.
Simone’s eyes turned cold. “It doesn’t matter what you do. But you can’t harm Dad. He’s already exhausted. So many people have invested in Gunnar’s project only to end up losing everything, even some families have been ruined. I can’t just stand by and watch you hurt him.”
“Simone, that’s my dad. Do you really think he’ll listen to you over me?” Stella raised an eyebrow, her eyes filled with unapologetic provocation. A that moment, she resembled a demon from hell.
Without a second thought, Simone slapped Stella’s face. “Stella, act like a human being. If you dare put your hands on Dad again, I won’t let you get away with it.”
As soon as Simone finished speaking, Stella suddenly grabbed Simone’s hand and pressed it against her chest. With a sudden force, Stella pushed herself down the stairs.
Simone stood frozen, trying to comprehend the scene before her when she heard Samuel’s cold voice echoing from the doorway, “You bastard, what are you doing?”
The video ended there.
Once this tweet was posted, it immediately attracted a swarm of attention. The comments were polarized.
[Stella knows how to put on a show.]
[I thought it was a fake–rich daughter story, but it turns out the real mean girl is bullying the fake one.]
