Sinsine barely had time to react when a black dog suddenly hurst through the doorway, charging straight at her. Her breath caught, her body froze and cold sweat instantly soaked her back. She stood there, paralyzed, not daring to nove

Chapter 48

After breakfast, Simone grabbed some beef jerky and stuffed it into her pocket. When she stepped outside, sure enough, the dog was still there. emuched by the gate The moment it saw her, its tail wagged so hard it looked like it might fall off

She tossed another piece of beef jerky farther away, and the black dog trotted after it, nose to the ground. Seeing that it worked, she kept throwing more, each piece landing a little fumber down the street, until the dog was finally out of sight.

Just when Simone thought it had finally left, she was stunned to find it trailing behind her on her way to school the next morning. Somehow, it even managed to surak onto the school grounds, though she had no idea how it pulled that off.
