Chapter 80 Fixed on Her
When he spoke, his voice was barely audible.
Leah heard him speak but couldn't quite catch his words, so she asked with a hint of confusion, "What did you say?"
Maurie lowered his head, hiding the flicker of affection in his expression that he almost showed. He then couldn't help but awkwardly replied, "It... It was nothing."
Understanding that he might not want to share, Leah didn't press further. "Let's eat then."
"Alright." Maurie looked up again. Any unrestrained emotions he had shown earlier were now well hidden.
He said, "We've been chatting for so long, and I haven't asked you yet. Where have you been these past three years? Why haven't I heard anything about you in any of our social circles?"
The truth was he had asked many people and searched many places, but there was no news of Leah.
Back then, Maurie had felt a deep sense of despair and even lost himself for a while.
However, just as he believed that his secret crush from high school would remain unrequited, Leah unexpectedly re-entered his life.
It made Maurie feel as if he had stumbled upon a precious treasure again, leaving him shocked and delighted.
This time, he was determined not to let go of her.
Regardless of the outcome, he would give it his all.
Leah was taken aback upon hearing Maurie's words.
Thinking back to the three years she spent married to Quentin, her life revolved solely around Quentin and his family.
She had lost her sense of self because of that.
