When Paul mentioned “Emilia,” Miranda immediately knew he must’ve figured it out. After a moment of thought, she guessed Christine must have said something to him last night.

She smiled and pointed at the candle. “You can try lighting it when you get back tonight. There might be a surprise. As for now…” 

She walked over, grabbed his hand, and pulled him toward the door. “We’re going to be late if we don’t hurry!” 

Both of them had classes to attend. Paul was teaching his course while Miranda was there to attend his lecture. Yes, it was the same one. 

This semester, he taught an interdisciplinary course combining physics and biology–biophysics. Miranda, Sebastian, and Madison had all signed up for it, 

“Morning, Miranda.” Madison saved a seat for her and said, “Over here… Today it’s multigrain pancakes. Want to try some?” She had explicitly asked Sebastian to bring four. 

Two for her, one for Sebastian, and one for Miranda. If Miranda didn’t want it, then she would have three.

The bell rang, and Paul, dressed in a shirt and slacks, walked to the front of the class. Without saying a word, he stood still, and the room immediately fell silent.

He didn’t need a textbook–his mind served as both the textbook and the translator. He had a knack for explaining complex concepts in a way that everyone could understand
