Jenny’s heart sank, feeling bitter with jealousy. “Why are you including Lionel’s family this year?”

Rena said, “We didn’t get many gifts in the past years, so I only shared them with you. This year, there’s more to go around.”

Jenny thought wryly, “I could have taken them all.”

She continued, “Oh, I’m truly grateful that you’re always thinking of us. However, I’m afraid that Lionel’s family might not care for these things.” 

“Not care for them?” Rena frowned.

Jack, her son, was already of marriageable age. As his mother, Rena had started looking to prepare a marital home for him.
