Hansel stood frozen in place for a long time without moving. The morning rush hour crowd flowed around him with people coming and going, but he looked like he’d lost his soul. His eyes blankly took in the scene as if the whole world no longer mattered, 

It was unclear how long he stood there before his stiff gaze shifted slightly, watching the direction Miranda had gone. 

“Have I truly run out of chance?” he murmured softly.. 

Ingrid didn’t know what Hansel and Evelyn discussed that night in the study. At first, she felt uneasy 

staying at the mansion, as Hansel’s cold attitude con made her feel like she could get kicked out at 

any moment. 

But soon, that unease disappeared. 

First, Evelyn had reassured her in a gentle tone, calling her the Johnson family’s savior and repeatedly Instructing the two maids to take good care of her without slacking off. She even spared no expense in buying Ingrid numerous supplements for her pregnancy. 

Then, it seemed Hansel had tacitly accepted her staying in the mansion; he was no longer as hostile and dismissive as before. 

Following this, even the mansion’s household staff sensed the shift in attitude. Their treatment of Ingrid took a complete turn for the better.
