This was unlike Hansel. 

Miranda said, “I feel like I need to remind you that there are six hours left until sunset. Today will be over soon.”

The maid left and closed the door gently behind her. 

Miranda napped for about 40 minutes. When she came downstairs, she saw Hansel sitting on the couch in the living room. There was an untouched cup of tea in front of him as he looked into the distance blankly, as if lost in thought. 

It wasn’t until Hansel heard the sound of footsteps coming down the spiral staircase that he snapped back to reality. The next second, he stood up nervously. “Mimi, are you up? Is… is there something wrong with the room? I’ll get the maids right away…” 

“There’s no need,” Miranda interrupted him. “I’ve had a good rest. Do you have anything else planned?”
