The birthday banquet had been a disaster, and Nelly was sent back to the Cooper family. estate against her will. Timothy hadn’t shown up at all. Apparently, he had gone abroad on a business trip. 

For the next two days, she tried to contact him. Every time she called, his phone was either off or out of service. Frustrated, she ended up smashing two phones in her rage. 

The maids were walking on eggshells around her. They were terrified that even the smallest mistake would make them her next target. 

A week passed, and on a quiet morning, Nelly finished breakfast and was about to head out when Timothy’s assistant arrived. After a quick exchange of pleasantries, he handed her a 

document. 

Confused, she opened it. As soon as her eyes landed on the words “Divorce Agreement“, 

her mind went blank. 

It could have been a second, a minute, or even longer before she slowly stared at the assistant and asked, “What is the meaning of this?” 

He responded in a no–nonsense tone, “Mr. Cooper asked me to deliver this to you.” 

Nelly shot back, “Tell him that if he wants a divorce, he should come talk to me himself. What’s the point of sending me this? Does he really think I’ll just sign it?” 

“Got it. I’ll pass the message along to Mr. Cooper.” The assistant remained calm as he picked up the agreement she had angrily thrown at him and left without another word. 

The moment he was gone, her facade crumbled, and panic took over. She immediately called Sam to explain the situation. “… Your dad wants to divorce me.” 

On the other end of the line, he was calm. He waited until she finished venting before responding, “Okay. I understand.” 

Nelly was stunned. 

“Do you have anything else to say?” Sam asked. 

“Sam! Do you even realize what’s happening right now? Your dad, Timothy Cooper, wants a divorce!” 

“I know. I thought he’d bring it up right after the birthday banquet, but I’m surprised he waited a week.” 

Nelly was speechless. “You… You need to come home now. Unless you’re planning to stop acknowledging me as your mother.” 

That last remark hit its mark, and Sam reluctantly returned home. The moment he stepped

“Sam, you have to talk to your dad. Convince him to drop this ridiculous idea,” she pleaded. 

“Sorry, Mom. I can’t make him change his mind,” he replied. 

“You… Whose side are you on? Why did I even raise you? Don’t you realize that if I divorce your father, it’ll affect you too? If he marries someone else and has more children, they’ll be taking what should rightfully be yours. Are you okay with that?”
