It wasn’t surprising that the faculty and the college were on edge after Miranda’s research paper was published in “Nature Biotechnology 

According to the latest global rankings from the Journal Citation Reports, “Nature” was ranked tenth with an impact factor of 40.137. In contrast, “Nature Biotechnology” ranked eighth with an impact factor of 41.677. 

The numbers spoke for themselves-“Nature Biotechnology” was even more prestigious than “Nature“. Within a single year, Miranda’s team had managed to publish two research 

papers. 

That kind of output? Not even the most hardworking person could keep up with that pace. 

“They’re remarkable…” Hendrix sighed. “These accomplishments should be credited to our college, but…” He trailed off and struggled to continue. 

When Hendrix first heard that Miranda and her team were building their own lab, he thought it was a reckless gamble. But when the lab was completed, it turned out to be far superior to the college’s facilities. 

The opening ceremony, packed with prominent figures from the field, was a wake–up call. It hit him then that Miranda wasn’t just any student–she exceptional. 

Luckily for Bedford College, she was one of their students. He rilliance and ambition were undeniable, and whatever happened next, her success was bound to reflect well on the college. 

Christine had flatly stated that she didn’t want to be listed as a co–author on any of the research papers. She also made it clear that all the work coming out of Miranda’s team was owned by the Infinity Lab. 

It was a subtle but sharp rebuke to the college. By stepping back from the co–author list, she made sure the college wouldn’t get any credit for the research.
