Aggressive wife novel (Madeline and Noah) novel Chapter 466

CHAPTER 466 THE HIGH AND MIGHTY MR. QUINCY

Mackenzie inched close to Madeline and whispered into her ear. "Daddy's jealous. He said you're his wife. Only he is allowed to hug and kiss you. Anyone else who does it is harassing you."

Noah turned his attention to his daughter. She wasn't being subtle with her whispers at all.

"Stop glaring so much, Daddy. Your eyes are going to fall out." Mackenzie clicked her tongue in disgust.

Noah didn't care. Madeline looked ready to school him and was straining her neck in a way that seemed to challenge him to see how she hadn't done anything wrong.

"What are you saying to our daughter? Are you saying I can't even have the most basic interaction with my children?" She wasn't returning his glare with her own but her demeanor wasn't much better.

She wore an expression that screamed, "How did someone like you get such a large share of the family fortune?"

"That's not what I mean. You're free to do anything you want in Imperia. Stop going out of your way to meet everyone." His overbearing words made him seem all the more like a domineering leader.

"Are you done throwing your weight around, Mr. Quincy?" She was speechless.

Noah said helplessly, "And what woman is as disobedient as you are."

He imagined himself as an overbearing president with Madeline acting like a timid mouse being taken care of.

Stop thinking!

"Ms. Grant…" The assistant director came asking Madeline for her opinion. All they did was call her name but Noah was staring daggers into them.

W-What's wrong with him? Did I say something wrong?

The assistant director was familiar with Mackenzie and looked to her for help.

The girl gave her father a sidelong glance and whispered to the assistant director, "Try referring to her as his wife, maybe?"

They were sweating bullets. What sort of idea was that?

"Mrs. Quincy, about this role…" They spoke tentatively and noticed how Noah's expression was no longer as grim.

They had no idea what was wrong with the rich. Some would rather stay as far away from their wives as possible while others were amicable but kept a wide enough berth. Husbands like Noah were few and far between.

The assistant heard how the investor greeted Madeline with a friendly hug and was subjected to Noah's glowering.

Nothing but the man in front of them mattered.

"I'm interested in the role. When is the audition?" Madeline wasn't paying any attention to Noah and had just looked up from the script.

The assistant director was overjoyed.

"If you're available, we can meet up with the director right now."

"Of course," Madeline got up and followed them.

She ignored the disapproving look Noah shot at her and even tried to send him away.

There was no way he was going to leave mother and daughter by themselves. He wouldn't have time to rush over if anything happened.

That was how the family of three ended up huddled in the director's temporary office. The director was familiar with Madeline and was just about to speak with her about the script when he noticed Noah.

"You're here too, Mr. Quincy." The director licked his chapped lips.

He had wanted her to act out a scene where she gets molested. What was Noah doing here?

Mackenzie noticed the stiff atmosphere and started, "Don't worry, Mr. Director. Pretend Daddy isn't here. He just came to watch."

"Ah, haha…" The director faked a laugh.

Noah shot him a look, took Madeline's hand, and went in.

He then slumped into a chair with the entire office unable to take their focus off of him.

The director was complaining internally to himself. "Am I here to audition Mr. Quincy or something?"

"What scene will I be auditioning for?" Madeline noticed his nerves and asked.

The director, under Noah's scrutiny, changed his mind and had Madeline try a simple scene.

Her performance had him surprisingly engrossed that he completely forgot that Noah was still around. "That was perfect! You don't have to try that molestation scene. You'll do great!"

What? Isn't this a film about emotional healing? Why is there a molestation scene?

Noah towered over the director like an immovable mountain.

He took the script out of Madeline's hand and flipped through it before asking the director, "Has anyone else taken this role?"

The director gaped at him. Was he crazy enough to pull it off?

The head of the Quinton Corporation is going to play the role of a grunt?

"Put me in that role," Noah ordered.

He was the largest investor. It wasn't out of the ordinary for him to stuff an extra into the crew.

"Who do you want to play, Daddy?" Mackenzie excitedly pawed at him. She was excited to be part of a show with her family!

He showed his daughter the character in the script when she visibly wilted. She shook her head. "No! I don't want Daddy to play this one! You should play this character instead!"

Mackenzie pointed at a "good guy" role. Noah took a look at it and found that the character had no interaction with Madeline. That displeased him.

"Stop messing around? Aren't you busy enough with the company?" Madeline knew he was trying to get in her way to stop her from taking the role.

Noah retorted, "Who's messing around? If you can do it, I can do it."

"You know how to act?" Both Madeline and Mackenzie were glaring at him.

He stroked the corner of his lips. What was so hard about acting? Was there even skill needed?

"We'll see."

The pressure was now fully on the director. He was scared but wanted to curry favor. What was he supposed to do?

"We should give it a t since Mr. Quincy is willing to join us."

The scene wasn't one suitable for children like Mackenzie to watch but no one could hold her back if she wanted to stay for it.

He was going to play the role of a drunkard who molests Madeline looking for Mackenzie.

Noah had some talent to him. The moment he was in the zone, the noble airs he put on were gone in an instant. He didn't need a wardrobe change to become an ordinary bumbling idiot.

Mackenzie was shocked. Was this still her high and mighty father?
