Alpha Twins And Their Hybrid Mate novel Chapter 15

Just as those two wolves jumped on me from behind, I woke up in a cold sweat, my clothes were drenched and breathing really heavily. I looked around and I was back in my room again, looking at everything that was familiar to me.

It took me a long time to settle down from that dream and I threw my legs over the side of the bed and rested my arms on my legs.

I noticed my hands were starting to shake and I couldn’t make any sense of it. It was just a dream, why the hell was it bothering me so much?

“I’m worried about you Ella.” Ava said.

“What the hell was that about?” I asked.

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“It looked like the wolves were having fun. The black wolves were chasing and playing with the white wolf. Why did they attack her? What the hell is the meaning of that?” I asked. I was trying to make sense of the dream. But nothing about it made sense to me. Why was I dreaming of wolves in the first place? I’ve never even thought about wolves until I moved here. Apart from Ava.

I know that they live around here. I’ve heard them howling a couple of times. But that’s about it. I don’t know why I would think that this is anything more than just the effects of moving to Alaska.

“Ella. I’ve told you that things are going to change soon. Don’t be scared of them. Don’t be scared of change. And remember, I will always be here with you. You never have to deal with it on your own.” Ava said.

“I don’t know what the hell you are going on about? What is going to change? Are you saying that I’m going to be attacked by wolves?” I asked.

“There’s a lot that you don’t understand about the world.” She said. But I did understand that I was getting sick of all these vague answers from everyone.

“Actually, I think I understand more about the world than most people my age. At least the ones that have decent lives. All this crap that’s going on around here is just a coincidence. It has to be. It’s only because of the move. I didn’t want to come here in the first place.” I snapped.

“You really don’t want to believe, do you?” She asked. Believe in what? There’s nothing to believe in except that I have a voice talking to me all the time which made me crazy and that I hated Alaska. That’s what I believed.

“Believe what? You haven’t given me anything to believe in. Life is what it is. And this is the hand I was dealt. Luckily I’ll be out of here soon.” I said.

I got up and looked out the window and saw that the sun was starting to come up over the trees, so I got dressed and I grabbed my bag and left my room.

I walked down the stairs and I saw Marilyn in the kitchen. She just glared at me and I let out a sigh of relief.

I walked past the doorway when I heard her footsteps coming closer to me but I opened the door like I wasn’t scared of her. But to tell you the truth, my heart rate did pick up a little and my legs were having trouble moving now, like they were turning to jelly. The courage I had the other night was gone now.

“Don’t forget to tell Celie that she still owes us money. She only gave us one month’s pay. She owes us for the first month that we were living here.” Marilyn demanded.

“Okay.” I said, softly as I closed the door behind me.

I then heard a bottle shatter against the inside of the door. Either she was still really pissed at me or she didn’t hear me answer her. I didn’t really care. I just walked down the stairs with more determination now that I had to get the hell out of this town and away from Marilyn and Jack. I couldn’t wait until they weren’t in my life anymore.

The day went by pretty slowly and I was eager to get out of class, but not to go home. I didn’t want to have to go home and fight Jack today. I just wasn’t in the mood.

But as I exited the building I heard someone call my name so I turned around and Wendy was running up to me.

“Hi.” I said.

“Hi. What are you doing tonight?” Wendy asked.

“I don’t know yet. Probably sitting in my room and doing nothing.” I said.

“I was hoping you’d say that. Mark is having a party tonight. Everyone’s invited and I want you to come with me.” She said with a really excited look on her face.

“Are you serious? I’m not going to a party where everyone hates me. I’m not going just so everyone can bully me.” I said, shaking my head.

“Listen, not everyone is like Leia. Listen, there’s this guy that’s going to be at the party. I have to see him. I have to talk to him tonight.” She said.

“Why tonight?” I asked.

“Because it’s driving me crazy not being with him. He’s my destined one.” She said. And I looked at her weird.

“What do you mean ‘destined one’?” I asked.

“It’s sort of like the other half of your soul.” She said.

“Your soulmate?” I asked, skeptically.

“Yeah. Pretty much.” She said. Maybe I wasn’t the only crazy one in this town.

“Wow. I didn’t know that you believed in soulmates.” I said.

“You don’t?” She asked.

“No. I really don’t.” I said. And I saw Wendy’s face change, like I had upset her or disappointed her or something. “I’m not saying that it’s bad. I’m glad that you found yours. I just don’t believe in them. It’s my personal opinion.” I added, trying to fix what I had accidentally said.

“I want you there with me.” She said.
