An Understated Dominance (Maria Vittori) novel Chapter 1558

With the knife clenched tightly, Lana applied more pressure, and the wound on her neck deepened.

Matteo's heart ached as he saw that, helpless against his daughter. He eventually gave in. "Alright, I'll let you two go. But starting today, you're no longer part of the Camron family!"

He declared sternly, "From now on, we're done. I'll act like I never had a daughter like you, Lana."

"Dad?" Lana quivered, her face etched with anguish.

"I'm not your father anymore! Leave now!" Matteo waved, signaling the guards to step back. Then he turned away, refusing to look at Lana.

Tears filled his eyes without him realizing it. He muttered, "Lana, live well. Go away from this treacherous place like Oakvale. I wish you happiness."

"Dad, I'm sorry." Lana was hit with a wave of guilt as she saw Matteo's hunched figure. After a brief hesitation, she wiped away her tears, grabbed Dustin, and rushed toward the door.

Once out of the living room, Dustin couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Camron, what's going on?"

"No time to explain! The Moseys' spies are everywhere; we need to leave quickly. If they find out, you won't make it out today!"

With Dustin in tow, Lana hurriedly ran, her eyes darting nervously in all directions.

"The Moseys?" Dustin furrowed his brow slightly. He thought, "Is Scott up to something again?"

"Let's use the back door!" Lana carefully led Dustin to the mansion's back door, ensuring they weren't spotted.

Lana opened the door and confirmed no unusual activity. Then Lana turned to Dustin. She quickly advised, "Follow this path straight ahead. You'll soon reach the main road.
