An Understated Dominance (Maria Vittori) novel Chapter 1562

Anders organized an exclusive gathering with two purposes—to win over them and gather intelligence.

"It's an honor to have you all at Jadeleaf Manor. Let's raise our glasses to a toast." He grinned, lifting his glass for a round of toasts.

Seeing this, the attendees, filled with respect, promptly stood up, toasting in return.

After all, the man in their midst was the God of War, the mightiest warrior in Dragonmarsh, and he was also the pride of the Moseys.

Anders was a figure who naturally commanded respect wherever he went, and today's warm reception pleasantly surprised them.

"Sir Anders, we're family. Your words make it sound like we're strangers.

"Besides, if anyone should be toasting, it should be us to you. You are the backbone of the Mosey family!" Scott, seizing the moment, raised his glass passionately.

"Absolutely! Sir Anders, your combat skills are unparalleled, a real asset to the Moseys!" The crowd joined in with praises.

"Haha! Alright, let's drink!" Anders laughed heartily, downing his glass in one go. Following suit, everyone emptied their glasses.

"Friends, the main reason for having you all here today is to discuss something crucial."

After the toast, Anders gestured for everyone to sit and got straight to the point. "I've heard about recent changes in the Moseys.

"Our godfather unexpectedly assigned that woman to be chief housekeeper. Do you find that woman befitting for such a role?"

At these words, the crowd exchanged glances, some visibly puzzled. Clearly, Anders wasn't pleased with Dahlia's rise to power.

"Of course not!" Seeing the hesitation, Scott said, "Dahlia is just a woman from some small town.

"Why should she wield such authority right after joining the Moseys? I think our godfather is truly confused!"

"Scott, choose your words carefully!"

Anders kept a stern expression, pretending to be displeased. "Our godfather is kind and caring. I think someone must have tricked him into making this decision.

"As his godsons, it's our job to help him see the true nature of these schemers!"
