An Understated Dominance (Maria Vittori) novel Chapter 1719

Upon hearing Dustin’s ambiguous answer, Matthias narrowed his eyes and chuckled.

“Logan, my old friend,” he said, “let me be honest with you. I’m just a warrior. I’m skilled in combat but inexperienced at being a crafty politician.

“I’m especially bad at getting hold of information and have much to learn from Tristan. That is why there are not many things that I am fully aware of.”

“I see.”

Dustin nodded and continued with a smile, “Actually, His Majesty and Prince Tristan didn’t discuss anything important with me. They just wanted to catch up since we haven’t met in so long.”

Matthias’ expression hardened, clearly displeased with Dustin’s answer. A bearded military officer next to him shot up in anger, rebuking, “Rhys!

What do you mean by catching up? Do you take His Royal Highness as a fool? I’m going to take you down!”

As he spoke, he looked like he was about to draw his sword.

“Show some respect!”

Matthias glared at him and scolded, ”

Logan is the Crown Prince of West Lucozia and our esteemed guest. You’d better watch your manners!”

“Your Highness! This guy is leading you on without a single word of truth. In my opinion, he needs to be taught a good lesson before he talks!” the bearded officer ranted.

“Silence!”

Matthias was furious and slapped him across the face heavily. “If you act out again, I will have you punished by the military law!”

“Hmph!” The bearded officer was defiant but eventually backed down. However, he gave Dustin a deathly glare, showing clear hostility.
