Chapter 4: Barter System

He looked at Bai Meiyue, but when he noticed the customers looking at him, he said to her, "You are spouting nonsense, when did we do such a thing? You better watch your words or else we will sue you!"

"Go ahead," Bai Meiyue sneered as she looked at the man in front of her. She wished she could use the butter knife to stab him in the heart, it didn't matter if the knife was not sharp enough. As long as enough force was used, it would definitely embed in his skin.

She curled her lips and remarked, "Do you think that I am saying these things because I have no evidence?"

Her words drained the rest of the blood from Jiang Ziming's face.

Bai Meiyue however didn't care about it, she picked up her clutch and walked past the table but before leaving the cafe, she paused and turned to look at Jiang Ziming, "And oh, don't even think of silencing me. If you do such a thing then you will never know what I might do."

After throwing these words, she pulled open the door of the cafe and stepped outside.

As soon as the clear and warm sun rays fell on her, Bai Meiyue inhaled deeply. She had to admit that she missed this warm sunlight and clean air. Once doomsday arrives, there will no longer be a day as peaceful as this one.

The first thing Bai Meiyue did after stepping out of the cafe was to head back home. Once she was back in her small apartment, she hurriedly checked the time and date on her phone.

August 6, 20XX. Two months away from the day when the doomsday broke out.

Bai Meiyue pinched her cheeks and arms multiple times to make sure that she was dreaming that it was not just a hallucination that she was having before dying.

But when nothing changed, a sense of relief rushed up in her heart as she covered her abdomen. She dropped to her knees on the carpeted floor and started crying.

She was really back!

This meant that her son, Bai Cai, must have returned as well with her. Thank goodness, thank goodness, this was not a dream. Her little Cai Cai was growing in her womb, and slowly he would be running around in her home, with his sweet giggles chiming.

The more she thought about it, the more Bai Meiyue sobbed while hugging her abdomen.

Thankfully, the heavens had eyes, and they didn't take away her son from her.

Bai Meiyue wanted to cry until she no longer could, but when she was reminded of how her little Cai Cai had cried the second he was born and grew up to be a crybaby, she stopped crying.

Maybe it was because of her emotional influence and personality that her son grew up to be a crybaby and a sensitive child — Bai Meiyue could not let her son be affected because of her anymore.

Once was enough!

After Bai Meiyue figured it out, she calmed down and adjusted her mental state. In those eleven years, what kind of thing had she not experienced? Even if she was hallucinating before her death, she was never going to wake up from this hallucination ever.

Bai Meiyue raised her hand and wiped her tears off her eyes and cheeks.

This was not the time to cry after all. She didn't have the time to shed tears anymore!

She got up from the floor and walked over to the couch, where she sat and tapped on her banking out. As soon as she checked her balance, a pitiful 345 yuan was displayed on the screen. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"Tsk, those leeches," Bai Meiyue clicked her tongue in annoyance when she saw the meagre sum in her account. With this much money, she could not even think of stocking up supplies in her house, much less getting prepared for the doomsday.

In the past, her father and his mistress and Bai Xue had an easy time because of her hard earned money. But there was no way, Bai Meiyue was going to let them have it easy this time around.

They had to go through everything that she had when she was left to fend for herself!
