Slash!
Elesha felt her world tilt before she could even register the pain.
It took her a moment, but she eventually realized the cause. She had been beheaded.
She saw her life flash before her eyes. Everything she had been through, how hard she had worked to reach this level... and how easy it had been to lose everything.
She had faced the wrong person, and now, she had lost. Everything.
Elesha couldn’t decide if she felt relief or regret. Relief that she had fought to serve Nex until her last breath... or regret that she had let all her hard earned blood and sweat die with her because of her overzealousness.
If she had hidden and mingled among the people, she might have survived.
’The people...’ As her head and body plummeted from the skies, she couldn’t help but think about the precautions she had taken back at their main city.
That would undoubtedly be the next destination of this monster, and there was simply no doubt about it, people were going to die.
Shnnnk.
Atticus sheathed his katana as Elesha’s lifeless body fell to the chaotic world below.
As he glanced at the scene of devastation beneath, he wondered whether her corpse would even make it to the ground. It would likely be shredded by the roaring forces clashing below.
Atticus spread his sense across the battlefield and beyond, making sure there were no more surprises coming.
He even used his Pride Eyes to scan around, intending to unravel any signs of deceit if there were any.
’Nothing.’ He noted in his head after a second. The only people who could be even the slightest bit of threats were the Warbringers, the people he had just killed in cold blood.
They were strong, even Atticus had to admit. However, their battle had made him realize another avenue of power:
Mana signatures.
Atticus had been too focused on the power of negation that he had ignored mana signatures entirely. He had been... foolish.
His intelligence had always been one of his greatest aspects. With his cognitive capacity, he had the ability to achieve so many things before anyone could even think.
During his battle with Dronvet, and especially the Amazonian Empress, instead of focusing on negating the mana, he should have been focusing on manipulating the mana signatures of the mana around them.
He could take control and shift the mana signatures of thrown attacks at a speed their minds couldn’t handle.
Doing so, and as long as their Will wasn’t involved, Atticus could allow his attacks to phase through any of their defenses by synchronizing the attack’s signature with their defenses. He could also take control of enemy attacks. The possibilities were endless.
The Warbringers had attacked him with different abilities, elemental or pure mana, but they had used mana as their source regardless.
